Great Eco-Friendly Boutique Hotel in SF!!!

by bwitt

We recently stayed at the new Orchard Garden Hotel for a little weekend get-away. We couldn't have been happier with the service, the location or the amenities at the hotel. My fiancee and i were upgraded to a suite with a terrace and a gorgeous view of the city, which was a lovely surprise. And, the complimentary european breakfast was a great, final touch to a perfect stay. Top this off with the fact that everything about this hotel is eco-friendly and sustainable, and you have get the BEST hotel experience in San Francisco.

  • Pros: service, location, complimentary breakfast and eco-friendly

Green - and they mean it!

by sliki

Beautiful new hotel in the Financial District near the Gates of Chinatown. Stayed there after having heard about their "green" efforts, and was not disappointed.

The rooms are really really nice! Flat-panel TVs, DVD/CD players, thick mattress, luxury amenities, down comforter...everything you'd like for creature comforts.

Lots of "green" practices are evident: fliers and educational material in the lobby, in-room recycling, low-flow fixtures, recycled materials throughout, natural cleaning products (Housekeeping doesn't use chemicals), non-smoking all-around, etc.

Great rooftop open - awesome views!

Really cool restaruant serving down-to-earth food. Fresh, local, organic. Good stuff. Nice wine list.

  • Pros: Brand-spanking new; location; super nice staff
  • Cons: Parking ($34 per night)
