Wonderful truffles. These are sublime truffles at a reasonable price (compared to other high end chocolatiers). I particular like the Earl Grey truffle and caramel truffle. Clearly the store opened on a limited budget, the decor is spartan at best, but I simply get my truffles to go. Please keep Samuel in business, because otherwise I have to go across town to get my fix at a place that's more expensive and definitely not as good.

Chocolate Truffles * * * * *. Love, love, love Five Star Truffles!

The place may not look like much (small store front across the street from Divisadero Car Wash), but these chocolates make up for it BIG time...

I stopped one day for coffee (really good espresso, by the way - Graffeo!) and as the sign outside promises - you get one free truffle with each coffee order. I have to admit, from then on I was hooked: I have been back for many more coffees witha free truffle, but I have also taken home various little boxes of 15 truffles, each time trying out a new flavor - from Dark Chocolate to Coconot, from Espresso to Kahlua, from Cognac to Hazelnut, from Caramel to Blackberry ... my absolute favorite being Earl Grey!

They make for a great little desert with coffee, they also make for a great hostess gift at dinner parties.

Five Star has various cute boxes to choose from - or you bring in your own bowl and have him fill it up for instant serving ...

Handmade truffles and java make sweet harmony at this laidback Divisadero shop.. In Short
Each day, truffle mastermind Samuel Velasco fashions little chocolate morsels of goodness in 20 flavors ranging from conventional hazelnut and caramel to orange and dark-chocolate varieties made with vegan-friendly soy milk. The owners have taken a decidedly no-frills approach to the décor, with bare walls and a few simple tables being the only adornments. Gift boxes of 20, 40 and 80 pieces are on the menu, as well as coffee and tea.
