Pescatarian paradise, hipster haven and Mission mainstay, this wee, sea-green eatery is festooned with coral, porthole windows and other nautical knick-knacks. Rustic chic banquettes and tables provide seating for about 20, who'll appreciate cool-kid details like the black bandanas that serve as dinner napkins. Old-school seafood favorites are given a progressive, new-school makeover here, with seasonally harvested, sustainably caught fishies and organic veggies going into a clam chowder that tastes miraculously healthful--more stew than glue. Farm-raised tilapia fish-and-chips arrives in a…

stumbled across this place when out and about in the mission. came with a group of four. we had to wait a while to get a table (the place is small and doesn't do reservations)... but the menu choices were interesting, totally affordable (four people, with appetizers, bottle of wine, coffee/dessert = $120). No other place is doing what this place does... order lots though, the portions are small (but the prices are reasonable so you should order more just to taste the variety!!!) try to push your way to the back next to the kitchen because there is usually space to grab a drink before being seated.
- Pros: innovative menu choices, affordable, funky decor
- Cons: no reservations and limited seating

Seriously amazing food, friendly people, great location.
Queerion population friendly LIKE WOAH! :)
If like me, you find it hard to find Vegan and Pescatarian America Fare, check out the Buf Cat Wings. They are super tasty and were recently featured on the cover of The Chronicle Food Section. Sers. That good.
Also, I dig the edamame salad, the Bok Choy and any trout dishes.
Mondays are locals night! Represent!
- Pros: Neighbourhoody, good prices, friendly faces.
- Cons: Small space.
TERRIBLE Tortilla Soup
by mlorca
my husband and i went to weird fish early on a friday night. with the exception of a terrible two-year old sitting next to us, we were pretty enthusiastic about the scene and the menu. we ordered the mixed crab and shrimp cocktail to start. it was hard to eat considering it was served in a water glass. the cocktail sauce was tasty. when i pulled three pieces of crab shell out of my mouth (gross!!) i worried we were in for an interesting dinner. for dinner, we ordered and shared tofu tacos- which were very mediocre. plantains and beans- plantains had a nice sweetness to them and the beans were runny. and lastly, the tortilla soup. it looked and tasted like the chef opened a can of crushed tomatoes, warmed it up with a few spices (and i mean warm- it was luke warm), and served it in a bowl with an avocado piece and tortilla strips on top. it was awful!! it was the WORST tortilla soup i have ever had!! living in sf for over 10 years, i could say with 100% certainty that this restaurant will be out of business before the years end. weird fish has nothing good to offer.
