Great Atmoshpere. This place is such a great place to go to with friends!! I went there the other weekend and it was such a fun vibe. We were recommended cocktails by TY KU and they were so refreshing and tasty!! Great for any occasion!

Good Hip Hop. This is a really fun hip hop club. I am familiar with the staff and doormen now, so they let me in free everytime. There aren't that many hip hop clubs in SF that are fun and classy but Icon is definitely one of a few.

very unprofessional......Abusive bouncers. Couple of my local friends were invited to a birthday party @ Icon lounge..anywho...what an horrible night. The drinks were very bad. The bouncers were very very abusive. SOMEBODY NEEDS TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION.

SoMa nightclub features an upscale atmosphere with special guest DJs, VIP rooms and bottle service.. In Short
Mirrors and smoky glass dominate the decor at this choice little lounge in the Folsom club and leather district. High covers grant entrance to a full bar and two dance floors playing '70s, '80s, hip-hop or soulful mashups of all three. The back dance floor (complete with bar) is particularly intimate, with one wall-length banquette that curves upwards like a smile. Thursday nights draw a lively crowd looking for parties here and at the Cat Club next door.

Worst experience ever. I flew out from New York to celebrate at this club with a few local friends. What an awful experience. If you like bad drinks, abusive bouncers, inept management, a club that is likely that to burn down due to electrical problems, mediocre music, a small dance area with no place to sit, and fellow club goers from dubious neighborhoods, then this place is the place to be!

Great dancing. I must say...I love Icon. Its a medium size lounge with two rooms and an upscale feel. I celebrated my 29th birthday here on a Friday night and since I had over 60 people coming, they gave me a private room with its own bar and dance floor for free. I searched for a place for weeks and none offered what Icon offered.

Don't WASTE your night HERE!!!. While it looks ok on the website, Icon is a small, somewhat dingy place that plays average music and has average priced drinks ($9). The real problem though is an aggressive crowd and out of control bouncers and door manager. When the group I was with was harrassed by drunk or drugged "patrons," the bouncers tolerated their behaviour, and then threw us out. They seemed amused to throw out the victims. I actually felt safer outside the club among the vagrants and addicts who seem to loiter near the door then inside with the bouncers. And the comments others made about parking are true - one of the girl's in our group had her car broken into. There are so many other, better choices to go to then this place. Don't make the mistake we did and have your evening ruined.

Avoid at all costs!. I went to Icon on a Friday night. It was my girlfriends birthday and we had guestlisted 20-30 people. When we got in line, management didn't have any of us on guestlist, and me and my girlfriend ended up waiting outside with the guestlist guy to tell him who was in our group and who wasn't.

Once inside, I soon found out there was nothing upscale, ultra, or iconic with this place. It is far too cramped with limited seating area, and the place consists of only two rooms. ALSO, there is something wrong with the bouncers that work there. There was an altercation with my girlfriend and another girl. Let's just say the other girl got kicked out immediately from the club, and my girlfriend was asked to leave too far no good reason. I did not see any of this happen, and by the time I found my girlfriend, a bouncer was grasping her by the forearm. I went up to him and told him to take his hands off of my girl, and he became enfuriated. The bouncer starts to push me, and push me until I am outside. I did push back initially, but this guy is 3 times my size. Ultimately, we end up outside, and he puts me in a REAR NAK ED CHOKEHOLD and presses me up against the trunk of some car parked outside. I am on the verge of blacking out, and this fool still does not let up. As a result, I have bruises on my neck, and I have trouble swallowing. Believe me, this was completely uncalled for, and was totally inappropriate.

If you do not think this will happen to you, then think again because that bouncer is absolutely crazy, and will do the unexpected. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!

BEST PLACE IN TOWN. one of the best places I've been to in the City, great decor, the crowd was Chic and Upscale, Management was awesome felt like a VIP not stuck up or stuffy, overall great experience and great Club to go to for a night to remember. The bar is amazing great setup, music was just right nothing over the top, it's got a little for everyone, two different rooms for different music lovers. But dress to impress nothing shabby,
