Be cafeful to check you receipt Vs the statement if you pay by a credit card. I have visited it 3 times.

1st time (Jan 2007), my bill was about $15. I paid it with tips $17 by credit card. But I found out my credit card statement charged me $19.

2nd time (Mar 2007), the bill was $30.34. I paid $36. My statement charged me $36.34

3rd time (Mar 2007), the bill was $21.6. I paid $24. My statement charged me $29.6

It i s a reall weird experience to me. I have never seen the amounts in my statement different from the reciepts 3 times in a same store.

I will not visit this cafe again. Cashers in this cafe are thiefs.

I tried the one in Livermore, CA. It was great. I like Strings Italian Cafe. Food is good, service is good, enviroment is good too, but NOT the one in West Lake!!!!!

Great Service. This place was a bit of wait, but that's only because it's a hole in the wall. The garlic bread was great. We were sooo hungry and out waiter kept giving us more and more... she was great. The food isn't too expensive, but it was very tastey.

DO NOT DINE AT STRINGS!!!. This is the worst dining experiences that I have EVER had. The service was terrible! The waitress wasn't attentive and displayed that she did not know the ins and outs of being a server. We ordered an appetizer combo (shrimp scampi and the crab cakes). The crab cakes tasted like the ones you can purchase in the frozen aisle at Costco. We also didn't get any bread and we had to ask her for it. That was a negative point towards her service because you always start the customers out with bread. Soup and salad came after the appetizer. While we ate the soup and salad, she walked around a couple of times, but never attempted to clear our table of the empty plate. There were times that she paid no attention to us at all. The table behind us didn't even get their water by the time their entrees arrived. They had to ask the same server TWICE to get their water. Our entrees arrived and by this time our tables were full of plates. Not only was the appetizer plate in front of us, we had the soup bowl, salad plate, AND the entree plates in front of us. How were we supposed to eat and enjoy our meal with all this clutter in front of us? It was extremely terrible that she didn't even take notice and take away the dirty dishes. So, we ate our meal (which was mediocre). I could've made something better at home and saved a lot more money. So, she FINALLY clears the table after we finished the entrees. That is a big no no in my book. Here comes the grand finale of this dining experience. We decide to order the N.Y. cheesecake. When she brings it to us, the slice is cut so sloppy that it looks unappetizing. We also had to ask for the raspberry sauce that comes with it! While eating it, I noticed something strange on the bottom. It turns out that there was MOLD on the bottom of the crust. i was completely DISGUISTED!!! We complained to the manager and I felt sick the rest of the day. We are never coming back here again and PLEASE DO NOT DINE HERE!! Tell everyone you know!!
