In Short:
Sister to the popular Ferry Building takeout window with the same name and sprung from San Francisco's inimitable Slanted Door restaurant, this modernized eatery in the Westfield Centre's food court offers to-go counter service, a sleek sit-down area with plenty of tables, a bar and a retail space with Vietnamese-themed treasures. Menu items include pho, rice, and sandwich-bun specialties. Ingredients are organic and sustainable; prices reflect this.

After a long day of shopping in San Francisco, Out The Door is a perfect spot. It's located on the concourse level of San Francisco's Westfield Shopping Center, a perfect ending after wandering the city. The Pad Thai is delicious, and the portions are so big that I can save some for later. You won't be disappointed.

I used enjoy going here, everything was good - wine, service, food. It is a completely different place now. The last time I went there (and it will definitely be the last), I chose the special of the day - a highly recommended salad. I don't know why this crop was recommended. It was a giant plate of frisee with six small pieces of battered and deep fried fish. Halfway through the meal I found garbage in the salad. Yes I said garbage. There was this long piece of plastic thing in my salad. Everyone was very sorry and offered me another salad. The waitress made it sound like a completely different salad. It was the same except the battered and deep fried things were shrimp. Everyone was very sorry and I was not in the mood to make a big deal out of it. I assumed I was comped the second salad. No! I was charged for BOTH! I can't believe how quickly this place has gone downhill. Apparantly no one in management has noticed this and still believe they are worth a premium price. Service is out the door, menu is out the door, quality of food is out the door, customer service is way out the door. The only things left are a decent wine selection and a high price. They should be embarrassed.

We used to eat here every Saturday while shopping. It used to be our 'slightly fattening lunch that we deserve', and although it was never cheap, the food was really excellent. I have no idea what they changed around Christmas, but the food has become oily and tasteless, and the front-end service is better in the average McDonald's. I used to love the spring rolls and the chicken curries but now everything is just swimming in oil and greasy. I'm hoping this is a blip and things will change but right now I wouldn't take anybody here.
