After 25 years of marriage, my wife deserved a wonderful gift. We went to a several places in the jewelry district and heard nice things about Derco. There we met Katherine Chiljan, Sales Associate. We tried several rings and we really appreciated Katherine’s good taste and patience. Never pressuring us, yet offering ideas. Sadly we did not find what we wanted. After giving up, we went to Tiffany’s. Great stuff, but over priced. My wife found what she wanted at Tiffany’s and I managed to get a picture of the ring. I then went back to 3 of the best jewelers asking them to provide me with a price to build the Tiffany copy. All three were comparable, but Katherine really worked with the diamond specialist to find a diamond that was superior to the competitors for a great price. I also trusted her to be very responsible for the custom work. Several weeks later, I picked up the ring (including appraisal) and it was perfect. I saved about 65% compared to the Tiffany’s (I paid around $8K). I really recommend Katherine. She has poise, patience and is extremely professional.

Pros: Greaat choices and custom work

Cons: None

The Gift Center is the main location. The management is arrogant and rude and customer service is nonexistant. They are happy to make a sale and take your money but have alot of excuses and will resort to unethical behavior to avoid taking responsibility for their actions. The center stone of my ring came loose after two weeks and I haven't had it since. While it was supposed to be repaired they were going to "clean up" some cosemetic flaws on the setting. I have been strung along for over four months with them promising to repair what was my NEW engagement ring and in the process they CHIPPED my large center stone! They had the audacity to offer to replace it with what they claimed to be an equivalent stone with a noticeably lower grade diamond. Their "Custom work" is a joke. The designer has very little talent and couldn't sketch a stick figure if you gave him a picture of it. The incompetence at the Gift Center is shocking. Good luck Market St and I feel sorry for Santana Row.

Pros: Prices

Cons: Horrible management, poor communication skills, unethical
