In Short
This tiny corner boite is bright and lively, with for about 16 people. A wooden display case of select wines (roughly 80 percent Italian varietals, the rest local) covers one wall, and wee two- and four-top tables on a clay floor are lit by floor-to-ceiling windows. Husband-and-wife owners Vega and Giuseppe Manna craft stuzzichini (nibbles such as olives, figs and almonds), cheese and salami plates, salads and one housemade pasta daily to go with the wines.

Best lasagna I've ever had, hands down (notice I didn't say outside of Italy...) Great wines by the glass. When I was there they had Amarone by the glass, YUMM!!! They have great salads too, I recommend the arugula salad, generous, fresh and perfectly dressed. I think our server was one of the owners because he had an Italian accent and seemed to know more about the wines and Italian food than a normal server would... all in all, we had a great night at this cute, inviting little wine bar.

The place is cozy, and the owners are wonderful. The Italian wines and food yummy. Want a friendly place off the beaten path, where everyone is friendly, away from all the madness? This is for you and you and you!

When I am not at the Wild Side West down the street, for a totally different vibe, I go to Vino Rosso. It's great in the sense that the owners make you feel totally welcome and spend a lot of time with you finding out your preferences, etc. before making a wine recommendation. Also, what's interesting is that, I am child-free but this place is super child friendly. The owners usually have their baby hanging out in the back and encourage the mostly neighborhood crowd to bring their own babies. Sounds wierd but it's actually pretty cool. Just like Bernal! Oh, and you can also buy any wine you imbibe to go (which is a good way to save some $$$ once you've found what you like!)
