Prepay tickets = hours in line.
Spent last NYE here. We bought tickets ahead of time only to find that all that got us was hours in line. To add to this, when we finally got to the front, 1/2 of our party was sent to the back of
the line, and all the bouncer said was "I can do what I want".
Once inside we found that it was crowded, had a small dance floor, and was not any different than a dive bar, except for the negative attitudes of the staff. In San Francisco you can definitely do better than this place.…
Stealing Staff.
Careful, the staff here steals. I started out as a fan of this place, even if the doorman can be a little too self-important and the drinks are pricey. My most recent experience - having my leather
jacket stolen from the coat check - has really soured me on Slide though.
About a month ago, I inadvertently left my jacket in the coat check after leaving in a hurry at the end of a good night. The next morning I spoke to a very pleasant, courteous and professional young woman, Sarah. She confirmed my jacket was, in fact, still there, and that as a policy Slide would hold onto it for up to 30 days for me to pick up at my first opportunity. On my first try, it was too early in the evening and no one was there. The next time I stopped by, Sarah had taken some time off and the person I spoke with could not find my jacket. She saw a record that it had been there and no record it had been donated to charity or picked up, and she recommended I call back once Sarah had returned to see if she knew what had become of it. She didn't. After looking into it, the best she could offer me was that there were over 70 people on staff, she had been gone for two weeks, and she gave me a fax number to claim reimbursement.
The fax number I was given was for Ruby Sky next door. Apparently they are connected through ownership. I faxed everything as instructed and received no response. I called to follow up and received no response. Sarah has been a pleasure to deal with but the rest of Slide is questionable. No one from management seems concerned that someone in their staff is stealing customer property. I'm sure that with what they make ripping people off on drinks, they could afford to pay for my jacket.
I have usually enjoyed the music and there's almost always a good looking crowd, but if you're going to Slide, stick to the warm nights when you don't need a jacket. This place just can't be trusted to do the right thing.…
Beautiful Club. This is a great spot and the staff makes sure the room isn't full of a bunch of guys or girls. It can be hard when you have a large group of guys and aren't going for table service but the place is very well appointed and worth checking out.…
Terrible.
My girlfriends and I wanted to check out Slide... it's exclusiveness was appealing. Their rules are ridulous. We had 5 girls and were waiting for my brother to come. They wouldn't let him in once
we already entered the club. I guess I understand not wanting an overload of men in the club, but they are totally ridiculous. What difference does it make if he came through the door with us or later?
On top of it, the place was filthy, it smelled like sweat and sewage. The bartenders were rude and acted like they hated their job. I couldn't even pretend to have a good time in this place.…
SLIDE in SF...you gotta READ THIS!!. We decided to celebrate my 26th and my cousins 25th birthday last night (a Saturday) @ slide. The music was nice (Zhaldee), but I am upset at how the night started. I would like to understand the slide's reasoning for only letting a one girl for every guy ratio. My brother had to wait outside alone while everyone else was inside. Please tell me if I am wrong, but aren't guys the ones who spend the money to buy the drinks? I had seen several males get in who are not accompanied by a female. I never have experienced anything like this before and I have gone to many many club in the city. Another thing the bouncer, told us that the other people in our party had to wait in line, but when I looked outside all I can see is a crowd of people gathered at the door. My cousin's boyfriend had a table last night and the person who made the arrangements should have let him know that there was a boy-girl ratio. He paid $700 for one table. We had several people who didn't even bother and just went to another place. So if you are still willing to go there, be prepared to wait for more than an hour and bring the same amount of girls as boys.…
