In Short – The crisp white table cloths, angular green chairs and natural lighting give Vitrine an airy, modern ambience. Breakfasts and lunches are served to hotel guests and locals who know the way to this slightly hidden, 75-seat restaurant on the fourth floor of the St. Regis Hotel. The menu relies heavily on fresh, local ingredients and includes self-labeled "refined comfort fare" such as pancakes with seasonal fruit filling and American wagyu beef brisket cured in-house for 30 days.
Awesome Breakfast!

I stopped in as I had a friend staying in the hotel who invited me for breakfast, although it is open to all not only hotel guest. The restaurant is a bit hidden but as you walk into the ST. Regis just ask to be directed to Vitrine. The room is so comfortable and elegant. The food was great! i have been back five times and the food and service seem to get better. I believe the servers name was Hazel and she was so polite and gracious to my 3 year old son. We were mad feel so comfortable as a family, they even made a special amuse for my son and custom made his breakfast as he is very picky! I will be going for brunch as soon as i have another Sunday morning off.
- Pros: awesome food and great service
- Cons: hidden on the fourth floor
Terrific breakfast/brunch place
by mika68
I was looking for a business breakfast place in SF that would be comparable to Norma's (Le Meridien, NYC) and absolutely accidentally found Vitrine at St.Regis hotel. Wow, this breakfast menu might soften any tension at the meeting! Brunch on Sunday is also very good while lunch is really nothing special. Highlights for breakfast: chef comes up with different amuse bouche pretty much every morning (at least in my 6 times there there nothing was repeated), then there is French toast stuffed with mascarpone and blueberries, dungeness crab with potato pancakes and Mayer lemon cream fraiche and so on. Importantly, everything is baked at the spot.
If not for breakfast, try it for brunch. Hotel location is not the most convenient, but we can live with it.
- Pros: Food, food, food
- Cons: Hotel location

This place is amazing the room is so contemporary yet comfortable. The menu is incredible, it changes daily incorporating what they have fresh in the Vitrine garden that day. The food is simple yet sophisticated.
My clients were so impressed I will definitely make this my new lunch destination restaurant in SOMA!
- Pros: Food
- Cons: 4th floor
