I started taking mat classes with Elizabeth Walker at Bernal Yoga when it opened approximately 5 years ago. When she opened her own studio, Pilates Heights, I complemented the mat classes with private lessons at the studio. I feel that I have enough experience with Elizabeth Walker to state unequivocally that she is an amazing instructor. She gives clear, concise directions, knows the human body and has an organic approach to pilates training which works for the pilates initiate as well as for the more advanced student. Pilates with Elizabeth not only has resulted in improvements in my pilates practice, it has also made me a stronger yoga student and a better runner with fewer injuries. If you start with Elizabeth Walker, you will never stop
Pros: Great instruction and expertise from Elizabeth, other instructors are also very good and can sub for Elizabeth when she's not available.
Cons: Would love to see classes available in the studio besides the individual instruction.

Hey, I don't see many of my "peers" in either Elizabeth Walker's group mat classes or at her private studio, Pilates Heights in Bernal Heights. By "peers" I mean slow, shlumpy white guys in their ... ahem ... mid-50's. But NEVER FEAR! Elizabeth is a wonderful coach and instructor, very patient, and really knows how to get the most out of her students. She's one of the most positive, gentle, yet productive instructors I've experienced. As a tall guy in my mid-50's, I have to confess that (even as a long time runner) I'd really been neglecting my "core". Elizabeth has brought an awareness, a simple discipline, and light at the end of the tunnel. I've noticed improvement in my yoga practice since starting regular (but not fanatical) piltates practice. And she'll work with your schedule (I travel a lot). I recommend Elizabeth Walker and Pilates Heights very highly! You won't be sorry.
Pros: Total focus on YOU! With her varied background, she can coach and help you fix many of your athletic injuries and "owies".
Cons: Currently in a very small studio, allowing only 1-2 private lessons at once. I understand Pilates Heights will be moving to a more suitable, slightly larger studio in the coming months.
