The Sunny Side of Sushi. Yeah..I SAID IT! Best sushi in the Bay. If you can prove me wrong, then do it. There is one other place I think that compares to it & it's in South Lake Tahoe.(Naked Fish~FYI) When I say sushi, I'm not talking about California rolls. You want to see a creative plating, Dragon Rolls come out looking like dragons. The Fuji Volcano Rolls are explosions in your mouth of spicy tuna & crab. The Firecracker Rolls will make you crave them whenever you drive by the Bayhill location. I also appreciate their fresh Nigiri(fish over rice). The fish taste like it came off a boat that day! Im normally NOT a fan of Unagi(eel), but find my self devouring it here. I also have run in for a quick temaki snack(hand rolls). The rice is never overly sweet. They also have lunch specials and for those that aren't food adventurers, you can order traditional bento boxes w/ the usual teriyake beef/chicken.(they actually have 18 bentos to choose from). I would also like to make a special note about their tea..whatever it is, I usually ended up just having that compliment my meal since it is warm & pleasing. They do have sake, however, & the normal beverage selections. So venture out to San Bruno & find this hidden Japanese treasure!

All around awesome sushi place. Sunny Sushi might appear to be your standard sushi place, but the food and sushi here are suprisingly flavorful and fresh. Service is quick but not pushy, and they're sure to set you up with drinks and green tea as soon as you're seated. Plus, the restaurant is always clean and never smells like fish or chlorine, which shows that those ingredients are fresh, fresh, fresh (fish reeks as it gets older). As far as the food goes, the lunch specials and bento boxes are the most price efficient, but even in the evening nothing goes beyond $15. Sushi is tasty, portions are well-sized, and extra miso soup or edamame are inexpensive ad-ons. I reccommend salmon sashimi, spicy tuna or unagi and the caterpillar roll. The salmon teriyaki is a great choice for lunch. I've never had a bad experience here!

best sushi for price anywhere!. We love sunny sushi and they have large well priced rolls that have more of the "good stuff" in them and less rice that most places. They also have some unusual rolls. Can't say enough about the honey walnut roll with shrimp and avacado-YUMMMYUMMM! Their Phoenix and Ice Mountain rolls are also "all that" The place is usually packed and with lots of families so its not the most romantic place nor is the decor what I would call fabulous- but it's clean and the food os awesome. Service is prificient and friendly and dollar for dollar nothing in the area can touch them.
