Dark mahogany walls dotted with black-and-white photographs of DiMaggio and Monroe, quilted leather booths and elegant chandeliers create a masculine vibe in this New England-style steakhouse. Tuxedoed wait staff weave easily between the front bar area--which features live piano beginning at 7pm, a full bar and two TV screens--and the large, open-plan dining room. The menu consists of standbys like porterhouse steak and crab cakes, or adventurous choices like rabbit over polenta and pastas with oxtail.

This is a great Italian restaurant with tons of old memorabilia. The food is top quality, and they made wonderful drinks too. There's valet parking, as it's a little tough to park. Excellent service. I can't wait to go back

A very classy place, sort of half steakhouse half Italian. With beautiful leather and wood interiors and many pictures of Joltin' Joe on the walls. Expensive but really well done and head and shoulders above the old restaurant that carried Joe's moniker.

We loved the Joe Dimaggios' in SF. The food was fabulous, ambiance was authentic and the best! Tracey Rice our Private Dining Mngr, is #1 in San Francisco and the service was incredible!! I highly recommend Joe's for the food, a party, place to meet or to go for great food, value for the money and service!!! It was better than Harris, Morton's, Ruth Chris or Bob's Steak House. Also, JP at the Bar and Jared the GM treated us like VIP's! The party thanks to the expertise of Tracey and her staff was fun, hip, and delicious -- we picked the PERFECT PARTY PLACE! We loved Joe Dimaggios Restaurant in SF as it is our new place to go for great steaks and chops, and the Italian part was great too! Keep it up!

Look Good:
A business casual dress code is required, which allows for jeans, but no tears and holes.
Parking:
Finding a spot in North Beach can be a headache, but the restaurant offers valet parking after 5pm; plus, there is a bus stop across the street (45 Union).

A banquet-style room toward the back accommodates private parties of up to 20.
