Best Haircut Ever, every time.

Adrian Elwell always greets you with a smile and immediately tries to get you to express what you like and what you don’t like about your hair as it is when you first see him. Then he tries to get you to relate what you would like, what feels good, what your “care” preferences are. As a middle-aged man, I’d worn my hair short for years because I didn’t want to “mess” with it, even though I’ve got a full head of red-brown hair that , I must admit, I’m lucky to have. When I started growing it out, the first time I went to Adrian, he made it look great and there was just as little complexity of care as there had always been. I’ve been growing my hair out for over a year now, little by little, and faithfully visiting Adrian when it feels like it is a little too much to handle. Each time I walk away thinking, “wow that looks good.” And the best part is that it has never gotten more complicated to take care of my hair, style my hair, or keep it looking good. I’ve become so secure with Adrian cutting my hair that I doubt I’d keep it long if I couldn’t go to him. The location is incredibly convenient for either driving (there is an affordable garage literally on that block) or public transit. The spa is open, welcoming, and clean. I can’t say enough good things about the entire experience.

Great haircut

I went for a haircut in April or what he called "clean up" and have to say, it turned out to be one of the most amazing haircuts I've ever had.After the first wash I was able to style it easily without spending too much time. He listened to my concerns and was able to translate that in a wonderful cut. He is absolutly creative, skillful and an attentive listener. He knew what fits my face and goes with my hair structure. Thanks again. You have for sure a regular and happy new customer

Exceptionally talented and well priced

I've been a redhead for the past 10 years and my colour has never looked better since Adrian became my stylist. He's one of very few colourists to use Elumen, a technically tricky but brilliantly effective product that barely fades and keeps hair healthy. Adrian strikes that perfect balance of creative - to keep my style interesting and fresh - and conservative - so that it's never too outrageous for the law firm where I work.

Adrian is a painstaking perfectionist when it comes to both cuts and colour. He also makes sure to stay current on the trends and technical advances in the industry. Thankfully he's now back in SF for good and I can't recommend him highly enough!

Best Hairstylist west of the Rockies

It took many hairstylists and really bad haircuts before I finally found Adrian. When he moved to the East and only came to SF once a month to see clients, scheduling became a problem. So no Adrian, no haircut! I had actually resigned myself to having long hair which was not something I really wanted. I am so glad he moved back to SF because in the hierarchy of priorities, perfect haircuts is right up there with good food and excellent wine. Welcome back, Adrian!
