The Scene – A pumpkin-shaded hybrid of live-work loft and "This Old House"-restored barn, Brick's main dining room is dominated by its namesake, a 100-year-old exposed-brick wall. The space, and where to sit in it, is all about who to watch: table companions, strangers at the adjacent horseshoe-shaped bar, cooks in the exhibition kitchen or foot traffic passing the window seats. – – The Food – This tasty fare is more than comfort food-plus; the menu of sharable dishes aims higher, and succeeds with flair. The unconventional seared-watermelon salad, the surprisingly…
Editor's Tips
- Parking:
- If the hard-to-score street spots are full, try the pay lot across the street or one of several nearby garages.
- The Extras:
- Admiring one of those painting on the wall? Check for a price--it may well be for sale.
- Know Before You Go:
- For private parties, the separate Gallery, which features work by local artists, fits up to 50. Smaller groups may reserve the Brick Room for a $100 fee (applicable towards the $600 food-and-drink minimum required to call it your own any night of the week).
Insect Invasion (not allowed to say the C word. got flagged) Big insect gross!!!
by sabrina_muncy at Citysearch
Lets put it this way ..Eating there last week. (the Insect) jumped on bar, bartender swooped it up as though he sees it all the time. Lights were on there was a large amount of people at the bar and the (hard shelled insect) WASNT SCARED!! Pretty brave (insect) or is Brick being invaded? You decide.
- Pros: ummm? Service was great. Its not their fault
- Cons: insects? food is below average used to be better.
Great dessert!

Nice ambiance, great music. We just went in for dessert which was outstanding. MUST try the salty brulee. It says it's for two, but good enough for just one to eat! It was rich, creamy, salty and succulent
- Pros: Fast and friendly service
- Cons: I think it gets louder the later it gets
Good food and atmosphere

Went to brick for the second time since it opened... no more small plates! On both visits the service was friendly and efficient and the food was good. This week, the little gem salad with beets was delicious and the pork pappardelle (I wasn't sure what to expect) was tasty as well. We split the "cheesecake" dessert which was interesting. The cheesecake (more like a brownie - not heavy, creamy like traditional cheesecake) was yummy but the chocolate cookie on the side was blah. Overall good dessert though. The vibe was cool without being pretentious, and it ended up being a perfect spot for our girls night out . Really good food, nice service, cool atmosphere. (not terribly spendy either) - Will be back! (Didn't get to enjoy anything at the bar but the bar itself is pretty sleek and inviting.)
- Pros: cool atmosphere; interesting menu
Very small plates at a big plate price
by rita002 at Citysearch
Atmosphere was nice, service was excellent. Food was tasty, but when my dinner came with three very small scallops for the price of over $20 I was shocked! The entire size of my dinner was smaller than a typical appetizer. I left with a big bill and still very hungry. Wont go back
- Pros: good service
- Cons: way too expensive for the size of the food. Leave hungry
Not a good place to go if you're hungry

The food is good - not great, and overpriced. The portions are very small. If your going for a lite meal or appetizer with drinks, then I would recommend it, but be ready to pay for a three course meal.
In my opinion; for the quality and the amount that you get....not worth it!
This place should be considered a bar that serves appetizers, not a restaurant with a bar.
