Shear Nightmare!!. Do not let Brianna cut your hair! Shocked that she is an Aveda instructor since this has got to be the worst haircut I've ever gotten. It looks like someone literally hacked the back of my hair off and it really uneven. Not to mention that it took her 4 hours to color and hack my hair off. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!

Daryl DuCharme -- simply the best. Daryl is probably the best colorist in the city, period. He gives you great, natural-looking results using great, natural (Aveda) products. I tried a lot of SF stylists -- some very expensive -- in search of someone who would really LISTEN to what I wanted, would have the SKILL to pull it off, and would CARE enough to do his best to make me look good. I found all that in Daryl. I live 35 miles away from SF, but I gladly make the trek in to see him. He's well worth it.

A visit with Daryl is a totally nurturing experience. You'll leave him looking and feeling great!

See Daryl DuCharme for a great haircut. For a long time, I thought I had bad hair. That's because every person who cut my hair told me so. My hair is very straight and fine. I wore it long and parted in the middle for many years, partly to avoid hearing the salon mantra about my bad hair. Later, I had an extended illness and got a virtual buzz cut for easy maintenance. Eventually I got well and had to decide what to do with my hair as it grew out. After many false starts, I found Daryl.

I now wear a bob. Because of the precision required for a bob, many consider it a difficult cut . Not Daryl. His cut makes my life easier as it assures my hair always looks terrific. It's flattering and easy to maintain. My friends envy that my hair never looks unkempt. It is not rare for perfect strangers to complement me on my haircut. I once overheard a man describing me to another saying, "She's the one with the great haircut.". I know this is San Francisco, but really!

Daryl is a delight. Friendly and professional, he is talented enough to be a Diva but never behaves like one. Very cool.

Beautiful cut, great location, good price, pleasant service. Daryl du Charme is my hairdresser at ShearBliss. He recently joined ShearBliss. He chose this salon as carefully as I chose him. I know I am happy with his beautiful work and where he landed. It is a place where I can find a 45-minute sanctuary of pleasant conversation or quiet. They offer tea or water. The other hairdressers are really nice and invested creating a very comfortable level of service. I have a father who really admires good haircuts, especially if it is on one of his offspring. He is always happy to see that I am sustaining a long-term relationship entrusting my cut to Daryl, who switches around using scissors or razors. He had a excellent aesthetic eye. His hand is consistant from years of experience and able to create a new look. I think he knows how to cut really curly hair. (You would want to call to make sure.)

Also, I like that Daryl stuck with a Aveda concept salon. I really enjoy using their products for at least 20 years. The price of my cut is good for a middle-end shop. ShearBliss opts for fitting into a nice neighborhood like Hayes Valley instead of charging 1/10th my bi-weekly paycheck by renting space in the financial district, downtown or in Pacific Heights. The location is great. You can walk to the ballet or symphony, walk to market and take MUNI catch a baseball game, find some truly delicious food in any price-range near or further out or catch transportation to link you up anywhere in the Bay Area.

Don't waste the pretty!!!!. Ok so maybe most guys or "gurls" don't go through the kind of trouble I do with my hair, but with the uprising of metrosexuals, and endless amount of "gurls" in SF, I know you ladies will appreciate this! Let's face it, the thought of finding a great stylist is less likely to happen then finding Mr. Right, or in my case Mr. Right Now, however, it always helps when he rides into town and escorts you into his "chair". You can't miss him in the front window, and please try and refrain from licking the glass ( I was told they don't appreciate it), is this guy Shane who moved here from Florida, of all places, who is not just a fabulous colorist, he is an ar-teest!!

I have never had anyone get my hair into such a vibrant, colorful, and dramatic color range, without destroying my hair, in fact after at least 10 years of above the trend cuts and colors, my hair is definitely in the best shape now then its ever been in before. I don't know about you but being part mafiosa and part latin, I have two fears, orange and more orange!!! Shane has already had me in many shades ranging from blonds, to caramels, to purple once, and the latest, 3 varying cool reds with copper! LUV IT! Ok so it matched my tshirt for NYE, it was fierce!

One of the other things I love about Shane compared to my previous stylists is his technical skills and vision. Shane's probably the first stylist to be honest enough to tell me I won't look good with a certain cut, or that I shouldn't be a certain color, and be able to explain why as he is doing my hair. Look up the definition of a stylist, that's what they are supposed to do, and yes gurls, that is part of the cost difference opposite heading on over to Super!@#$!

And if I haven't put into plain english enough for you, I average 2 compliments a day on my hair, not bad for having a corporate job where I see most of the same faces each day.

Here it is boys and "gurls", if Shane isn't doing your hair, then your hair simply hasn't been done!
