Melissa is definitely one of the best colorist in SF! and this is saying a lot since I have thick coarse Asian hair with tons of white hair to cover up. she is very knowledgeable in what she is doing and she is very friendly. every time I get my hair done with her I never really have to go back until 3 months later! the salon itself has a very cool vintage feel..the people there are super friendly and very funny =) I love going to this place and really I have tried salon Miel, Sublime, Posh and several others in the city and no one does COLOR better than Melissa! Try her and you will not be disappointed...

I've been to both locations a few of times - for cuts only. The cuts have been good - but not great. The downtown salon is tacky and messy and looks like an old-fashioned neighborhood salon not an upscale contender. The Calif. St. salon is nicer. Main point of contention - pricing. Priced very high for service level, ambience, etc.
Pros: Calif. St. parking and atmosphere of salon
Cons: Downtown salon is dumpy; both too expensive
