Best Spa in SF. I have been a client of Shayla's for a few years. She is patient, kind and utmost professional. I have to say to those who whine about their cancellation policy - grow up! Who do you think you are that you can waste people's time, and then complain about it?!! Had to get that off my chest. That being said, Shayla has always given me great sessions, and the other people who work there are all about the caring. This is not a pretentious place, just local women doing a great job, and for many years now. In fact, Shayla opened the first colonic place in SF! She's still the best! My body and my life have changed since I have been seeing her. Thanks Shayla and all the great women at Abundant Health!
Worst Spa in the Marina!!.
I am extremely disappointed.
I was excited and made an appointment on Thursday for Saturday (today) at 11:00am. I ALWAYS keep my appointments. I awoke this morning very sick with the flu. I called, even though they do not open until 11:00am, and I left a very apologetic message.
I have never signed a contract, never been told over the phone about a cancellation policy and it is is not on the card I have for the special!
The man that called me had a condescending voice..anyway...he tells me , well we will have to charge your card anyway! No way in hell am I paying $224.00 for services I have never gotten!! He told me to come in that the treatment would help my flu. Yes, I will go out in the 42 degree weather sick. It is taking my last bit of strength to write this!!
I called my bank and they agreed with me and will block the payment! I am a regular at Spa Radiance and I am going to urge Angelina to get a colonics professional there. That is the very best Spa in the Marina.
Don't go HERE, they don't care about anything but the almighty dollar. I understand if someone is a repeat flake..then charge them! I am not a FLAKE!!!
Mark my word, if my credit card is even attempted to be charged I am going major public with this. I am a native of the Marina and know very influential people, especially in this neighborhood. I have already spoken to my friends and they have all agreed and will not go here. I will go to Michael Finney on Channel 7 and expose them!
In these economic times I don't think they need the publicity!!! But they will get it if need be!
UPDATE 12/14: THEY WENT AND CHARGED MY CARD $224 TWICE AND AN ADDITIONAL $112..THAT TOTALS $560.00 AND THE ORIGINAL CHARGE WAS ONLY $224 FOR SERVICES I NEVER RECEIVED!!!
FOR WHAT I DON'T KNOW! THE BANK IS REVERSING THIS AND WILL DISPUTE WITH THEM. THEY ARE RIP-OFFS AND SCAMMERS BEWARE!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!
We did explain our 24 hour cancellation policy to this client at the time she booked her appointments. The only reason we take a credit card, and we said this, is because of situations like this, where a client books and then does not give us a 24 hour notice and does not want to pay for their missed appointments. If we did not do this, we would not be able to stay in business. It's very unfortunate but true. Most of the appointment fees go to reserving the room and paying the practitioners. Our cancellation policy is also on our website, and on our outgoing message, where this client left a message a few hours before her sessions, and before our normal business hours. Our cancellation policy is standard spa policy, which anyone who goes to spas knows. She was so aggressive and hostile to our receptionist that she made an error in charging the client due to being attacked and upset. The error has been corrected. We wish her well.
Poor Customer Service. Don't forget their 48 hour cancellation policy! Unfortunately I did, for my second appointment, which was many months after my first appointment. They won't let it slide with a warning, you will simply pay for it, even if you give them 24 hours notice (the norm for the spa industry). Their unsympathetic attitude was a real turn off and I will not recommend them to my clients, family or friends. If you go and this happens to you then I hope they will have changed their "no excuses" policy by then to be more forgiving for their clients.
Hello, I'm sorry you had an unpleasant experience at ah. The good news is we've moved to 3303 Buchanan Street at Chestnut and have changed our cxl policy to 24 hours. We had been planning this for a long time. In our new office, we have many treatment rooms and are there 7 days per week. In our old office, we only had access to our office 4 days per week, so the 48 hour policy was a necessity in order for the business to stay viable. Many top spas, including Spa Radiance just up the street, still have 48 hour cxl policies. We do enforce our cxl policy 100% of the time. We are completely sympathetic with life's unexpected twists. We truly understand that things happen. All we ask is that each client be responsible for her own appointments, honoring our time and being in integrity with the agreements she makes with us. That way, we can stay in business, and hold the healing space that we are committed to providing for our clients and staff. We wish you well, Shayla
I have my life back!. Well, after reading all these great reviews on citysearch and yelp, I decided to take the plunge and check this place out. I just want to let you (and Shayla and Camile) know that I was really pleasantly surprised. I scheduled my appointment with Camile, and like a lot of others have said, I was immediately put into a relaxed state from the minute I walked in and took off my shoes (they give you slippers to wear). Even the colonic room is soothing and warm (they heat your gown up so it's nice and warm before you put it on). Camile was so sweet and took the time to really listen to my concerns - I felt totally safe in her hands. I had been suffering from gas pains for 3 months that became debilitating in the weeks just before I decided to look into colon hydrotherapy - seriously, it just wouldn't come out! And after going to my doctor and drinking various potions and pills and herbs and solutions, a colonic was kind of my last resort. Sorry if this sounds gross, but Camile's hands massaged that gas right out of me -along with a surprising amount of other cr@p (ha) - and after just the second session I really felt like a new woman. I'm so grateful! More bonuses: my stomach is flatter, my skin has improved, and I'm sleeping better. Oh - 3 more words - heated toilet seat. Nice.
The Ultimate Invesment.
Over the last couple of years I have turned into a colon hydrotherapy fundamentalist of sorts, much to the chagrin of my family and friends, exhalting (yes..even at dinner) the limitless health benefits of cleaning the seemingly endless great Alaskan internal pipeline. Sadly, many people suffering from chronic digestive issues, parasites, food allergies, candida, etc. and overall constant state of discomfort and pain, do not seek out an essential treatment for improved health often due to the mythological "gross factor" reputation of colonics. I started seeing Shayla three years ago after picking up foreign invaders from trips abroad and feeling like a toxic, fuzzy-brained walking time bomb all the time. As much I as longed for a quick fix to my health woes, Shayla helped me see how I was making a critical investment in my health with series of colonics. It is frightening thinking of all the money that I have spent on Western and Eastern medicine and supplements to combat my undiagnosed problems, but I can honestly say that there has been a 100% physical and monetary satisfaction guarantee from my long term commitment to colon hydrotherapy. Every dollar, every hour, and every wonderful interaction with Shayla has helped me overcome many health hurdles and reach a newfound place of vitality, energy, and daily commitment to self care (which doesn't exclude the occasional molten chocolate cake)!!!
Be bold...give it a try...you won't regret it!
Best Wholistic Day Spa in town. I love this place. I am very well versed in spas, massage, bodywork and holistic health, and this place is great. It's completely unpretentious, and the services are all first rate. More grounded than fancy, and very nice. I have had 10 colonics here over the past year, and my life has changed, just like Shayla said it would. The therapists really take their time with you, are very gentle, and explain everything very well. Seeing the matter leave my body and flow through the tube is incredibly cathartic. It's shocking to realize what was inside of me, but amazing to see and feel it leave. I have also had great massages and herbal bodywraps, which flushed inches off of my fattest areas and made my skin unbelieveably soft. And now, they have another amazing thing, an ionic footbath that detoxes your entire body just by putting your feet in an ion footbath. I have been to many destination spas, but sonce I can't get away as much as I would like, I have started to come here for mini cleanses and maintenance. One week I had 4 colonics, 2 massages and 4 herbal wraps, all while staying in SF and going to yoga and eating healthy. I lost weight and inches, and lost a lot of the bloating that had been plaguing me for years. I go in once a month ongoing, sometimes more if I'm cleansing or need a little extrat attention. I encourage you to take care of your body and do some cleansing, and Abundant Health is the place to go!
Terrific Place, Great Results. I just had my first colonic ever, with Camille, and I highly recommend her. She has a great blend of professionalism, calmness, and humor. The office is really nice and relaxing. As soon as I entered, I was put at ease. Like she told me when I called, it's really not that bad, the actual colonic, and well worth the effort and minimal discomfort. You won't believe what has been festering inside your body, which I will not describe, but trust me, you want it o-u-t. For what it is, I was made to feel very comfortable, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I look forward to my next session. Very informative and I left feeling terrific.
Great reviews, I'm on my way!. i'll post my review after my 1st appointment but for now just a question: i'm wondering if it's customary to tip after one of these treatments such as one would after a massage or a haircut...
I'm a new woman!. After reading an article about Abundant Health Wellness Center in 7x7 magazine, I knew I just had to get a colonic. I had thought about it for a number of years, but it's not the kind of thing that you would go do just anywhere, so I was so excited by the strong recommendation of the magazine. Rest assured, this is a great place and you will be surprised at how gentle, easy and relatively confortable the whole thing is. I have seen both Shayla and Lena, and I assure you they are both pros. Very professional and very kind. They will put you at ease immediately, and you will be skipping with glee as you leave! I can't believe all that stuff was in me. I have done 3 and plan on doing at least 3 more, as it gets more and more interesting every time!
A Great Experoence. I must admit, my wife forced me to get a colonic, but now I realize what a lucky man I am. The place is very clean and very nice, and Shayla and Lenna were both professional and very kind. It's unbelieveable how much stuff was inside of me, and thankfully is now washed out of me, and how easy the whole thing was. The results were and still are well worth it. I now feel so much better, and I highly recommend Abundant Health to anyone looking to improve their digestive health.
You're a lucky man to have a wife who cares about you and your health! We're so glad you're feeling better. Thanks so much for the great review.
