In Short
Housed in a century-old bungalow, this intimate, 55-seat restaurant also showcases the works of local artists, such as handblown glass light fixtures and a handcrafted cherry wood bar. Diners can watch the magic happen in the open kitchen, which churns out small and large plates, including roasted Brussels sprouts with fromage blanc and pan-seared filet mignon medallions with butternut squash risotto. All breads are baked in house, and the 50-bottle wine list focuses on California varietals.

While in Half Moon Bay for our anniversary, we tried 4 restaurants. Rogue Chefs was by far the best. It was very fun. We ate at the chefs table where the master chef prepared our dinner right before our eyes and recommended wine to go with each. He was so friendly. It was like being at his house and getting a special treat dinner. He didn't even know what would be for dessert until later when we watched him make chocolate flourless cakes. No recipes here. The menu offers 3 or 5 courses. I had scallop fried rice, spinach salad with strawberries and a dressing he whipped up just before serving, tomato risotto and corn meal covered pork chop. My husband had Flat Iron steak with Blackberry Chocolate sauce as his main dish. The evening was absolutely wonderful. Thanks for a fabulous anniversary.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to happen upon this restaurant last weekend. What a great place. They feature an open format kitchen so you can see everything they do. Each dish is a work of art, and the proportions are very generous. If you are the inquisitive type I would recommend sitting at the Chef's table this 30' bar allows you to watch the food and dessert prep right in front of you. The Executive Chef Kevin is very nice and I got the feeling he was really did want to know how our evening was when he asked. They also caterspecial events and provide private chef services, wine dinners and culinary classes on Saturday afternoons. I might have missed something else so please check their website for more info or just to check out the menus and wine list! PROS: Everything, supurb experience CONS:
