Love this salon!. Just discovered this Salon and have been going there ever since. The place is extremely clean & professional. The prices are reasonable. They also have wireless connection, so I bring my laptop while I crank out work on the computer. Power Point presos & pedicures -- my personal heaven :)

Very Zen No doubt about it.. never knew that there was a spa in the san mateo, I recent found out about this location by a referral from a friend of mine. She told me that this spa gives the best facials and massages. I just went there today and tried out what my friend recommended. The facial was the best I ever had! After the facial, my skin was glowing, rehydrated, and smooth as silk. After facial, I decided to try the waxing there. I needed one and I didn't want to make another appointment for waxing at my usual place. I had to wax my eyebrow, lip, full leg, and Brazilian. Because of the facial, I had high expectation. To no surprise, it was great. It was fast, clean and painless. It usually take the place I go to about 45 min just for the Brazilian wax. But ,Vivian the person who did my facial and waxing, only took 20 mins. Overall, I had a great experience. If you want a very efficient, clean, and painless waxing, you have to see this gal. I love this place, very cozy. The environment is very Zen. No doubt about it, I WILL go back try the massage with my husband next week.

Nice ambiance and Great Service. I have been going to White Orchid for over 2 years now since it opened, and I enjoy my experience every time. I have become friends with the owners who are a very nice couple and pride themselves in their work. They don't rush and are careful to make sure you are happy with every service. If I could give it a 4.5 on the ratings guide I would. My only little qualm is that it's a bit pricey, but it's worth it if you have the extra cash. You should definitely try White Orchid when you want to pamper yourself!

Great Experience; Amazing Staff; Truly Enjoyable Visit!. I walked into the salon at noon today (Sunday) after a horrific haircut, which was received elsewhere. Vivian, the sweetest stylist I've ever met, managed to squeeze me into her full schedule (which is very common for White Orchid). She proceeded to spend 2hrs in rescuing my hair outa disaster and I walk out more than amazed. Her accomodation, patience, and helpfulness was beyond me .. and the whole staff was warm and welcoming as well. I guess this reflects why so many pleasant clientele (female AND male) comfortably patronize this salon. I believe I've found my new salon and will be going back many times to come .. also, I'm planning to have my birthday night out with my girlfriends there too :) A truly enjoyable experience .. be sure to make an appt!

For mens this is the best.. I've recently started getting facials regularly. I just tried White orchid day spa for the first time upon the recommendation of a co-worker. The staff was friendly and efficient. My facial was awesome. My skin has cleared up and I got some easy to use products for travel. I also got a hair cut and the stylist did a really good job. I'll definitely return. They are busy on weekend do make appointment befor come in.

the most relaxing salon/spa anwhere! Friendly staff makes it a great experience!. I get my hair regulularly cut at White Orchid--and each time it has turned out beautifully! The staff is really friendly and easy to talk to. The spa itself is gorgeous! I feel so relaxed whenever i'm there. It's a very tranquil, peaceful setting. Parking is easy to find (metered) and overall i HIGHLY recommend this place!

couples massage. I just got back from a couples massage with my girlfriend Nana. I had a therapist named Ginig, and she was fantastic! They stayed open late for us and were very warm and friendly. Our massages started late b/c the room was still occupied, but they kept us busy with chatting and magazines.

I had such a good massage that I booked another one for this weekend.

I would reccommend Ginig, but we did not partake in any of the other services.

Also, try to sushi restaurant right across the street, it was yummy.

Nice Place. Let me first say I am sceptical of all the other reviews, since they are all glowing and written by users who have only written one review. I had the White Orchid Manicure done here about a week ago. The ambiance is very nice and I was offered a drink while I had my massage. When I left, there was some sort of stickiness between my fingers but all else was OK. Manicure service was slightly above average but the main reception lady (perhaps the owner) was a bit overbearing and pushy.

serene day spa in downtown san mateo?-YES!. The atmosphere is very zen and warm. The owner-Lynn came right over to introduce herself-what a professional and sweet lady. My mom and I tried the lemon drop pedicures-awesome! John did my pedicure and was very nice and did a great, thorough job. More importantly was my for my mom to enjoy it and she did. The spa chairs were nice and large and comfy. I liked the place so much, I booked my mom to have a facial right then and there. She came out glowing and couldn't say enough good things about Lynn and how incredible it was.

We will definitely be back!
