What People Are Saying About Cinecitta

This stylish, cream-hued little pizzeria is the real, rare Italian deal, with traditional ideas on the perfect pie. Crispy individual thin-crust pizzas are wood-fired and topped alla Romana with flavors such as the Capricciosa--artichokes, prosciutto, olives and soft-boiled eggs--and the Fabraterius, a medley of rosemary and potato. Italian wines and beers, including Birra Moretti on tap, are on offer at the casual bar that stretches the length of the narrow venue.

Editor's Tips

Know Before You Go:
Don't expect to squeeze in more than a table for two or three at this narrow corridor of an eatery
Where to Sit:
Can't find a table? There's plenty of room at the bar.

Change of hands...

by harrismillis at Citysearch

Sadly, the owner and creator of Cinecitta has left the business and it is simply not the same... although his original partner is still there the restaurant lacks in quality and karisma. Neighborhood gossip says that Adnan will be looking to open a wine bar in the coming year. Those of us that were regulars at Cinecitta can only hope!

Thin Pizza Pie!

by opinion8 at Citysearch

Beautiful Pizza to be had here, with every variation you can think of. Great place for the real deal, right on Washingon Square Park. No slices, but hey, this isn't New York!

  • Pros: PIZZA!
  • Cons: Olive oil on table not the best

Most authentic Roma-Italian style pizza in San Francisco!

by ajsmith14 at Citysearch

Go to Cinecitta for seriously delicious pizza prepared the way it is in the Lazio region of Italy --- light crust, tangy tomato sauce (or no sauce if that's your preference), fresh vegetables, salty cured meats, fresh cheeses, and, if you're feeling adventurous, an egg. The owners are friendly, the service excellent, the seating cozy and very casual. They beat A16's pizzas hands-down!!

  • Pros: Fast service, consistent food quality
  • Cons: Tricky for groups larger than 6
