Tips for Sushi Suki

has gone steadily downhill.. The sushi is fresh and definitely prepared authentically. You'll see why when you go there and sample the masterpieces yourself. It's not a place to get fancy-fuzion fare --- with special rolls or flashy service. You'll get an amazing experience, full of simplicity and authenticity. Sit at the sushi bar and watch the master at work!

Um yeah right -- that was back in the day. That's what I used to think of this place. For over this past year, this restaurant's food and service has gone steadily downhill.

This is the last time you're pulling a fast one, Suki Sushi.. Wow, what a bleeping disappointment! We've been loyal customers since 2004 maybe? Order delivery, around $65 worth everytime, sometimes more, 2-3 times a month.

What went wrong? The incredibly cruddy service, for one. The woman on the phone always gets my credit card number wrong. Last time, she only wanted to take down the first 3 sets, and I had to tell her no, there are 4 more numbers. Didn't matter, when they came to my home, they claimed the card number I gave was wrong. I showed it to them and clearly, she wrote it wrong.

What's the worst infraction? The hamachi sashimi, amaebi, sunrise sushi, uni, etc. they gave me was completely a step away from ready to be thrown out! even the masago was bad! How can that happen?

I ended up sticking the whole thing in the microwave just to get rid some of the bacteria and it became even more disgusting. This is the last time you're pulling a fast one, Suki Sushi. You're out!

If you're looking for a no-hassle sushi dinner without the usual bells and whistles (and the standards that go with them), stop by this quiet West Portal haunt.. "Dive" is a characteristic you look for in your local bar--not so much in your sushi restaurant. Pink walls are covered with napkins written with customers' drunk nothings. There are Christmas ornaments (one year old? Two? A permanent fixture?) that hang over the bar. And although the young staff is friendly and accommodating, you'll regularly note their eyes glued to the Asian soap operas that continuously play on the television behind the bar. In terms of the menu, it's pretty run-of-the-mill: complimentary green tea is given to each table, and you'll find mainly the typical sashimi offerings and sushi rolls covered in tobiko. For sake bombs and a cheap Japanese bite with friends, this is definitely a suitable place--just don't expect Nobu, or even No-Name, level of creativity or atmosphere.

worst sushi in san francisco. i had take out from here last night, the fish was not fresh, the rice was not sticky and the maguro was bland with no flavor! they made the rainbow roll with imitation crab.....which isn't that bad except it was also not fresh and had a salty old flavor. the staff and the "manager" were very rude and refused to compensate me in any way for my terrible dinner. they said that i was the only customer who had ever complained in 2 years!

i would advise anyone looking for a good sushi restaurant in west portal to look somewhere other than here! BAD FOOD AND BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Fast and convenient. They replaced my favorite sushi place. They're not as good as they were, but, they're definitely worth a try. Service is great and they also deliver, which is a plus. I love their salmon sashimi, it's always fresh!
