A touch of class and an ample menu! Osha Thai has an upscale look and feel without the pretentious prices of other similar restaurants in downtown San Francisco. Take advantage of their Happy Hour from 3p-6p and enjoy $3 beers and discounted bites! I highly recommend their Tom Yum soup with seafood along with the Tuna Poke (for happy hour).
Great "In-Betweener" – Osha is a fairly trendy Thai restaurant chain throughout the city. It's slightly overpriced, but it's pretty decent food. It's mainstream Thai, although they do have some authentic dishes.
It's located right by my office so we tend to take new hires there for lunch. The Tuna Poke salad is really great -- they give you a large portion of tuna (raw) to go with a seasoned and dressed cucumber/seaweed salad. It's healthy and refreshing.
It's a little on the expensive side, but definitely worth it if you're looking for an "in-between" restaurant to go to.
Terrible Hostess – I normally like osha thai but the service on friday night was terrible....After being told by the hostess that our table would be ready in 15 minutes about on hour later, we left.
Be upfront and say one hour if that is the case. Also, dont make up excuses as to why our table wasn’t freeing up.......wont go there again!
One of the top 5 thai restaurants in San Francisco – I've always been a fan of OSHA Thai; especially when I worked a couple doors down from the SOMA location. I appreciate OSHA Thai for introducing me to Pad Se Ew and Volcanic beef. I like places that I visit that are consistent, and OSHA Thai quality and taste are always deliver. That said, they changed their menu a year and 1/2 ago ... decreasing the size of their portions, and removing a couple of favorites from the menu. Also, they started charging for sharing plates ... hey, I always think of Thai food as a family style meal, and I like to share. What's up?
Great Thai food, Great experience! Nice atmosphere! – I went to this wonderful Thai restuarant the other evening with a group of friends we had the most AWESOME time! Great Thai food, nice atmosphere and reasonably priced as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for wonderful, authentic Thai food! Try it you won't be sorry!
Good Thai food – Have only come here for lunches. We always get the penang chicken curry, very good. Usually the pineapple prawns or duck does it for me. This time decided to try the angry prawns. Giant prawns and eggplant nicely done, but the sauce was fussy with too many ingredients and too much oil. Good service last several times we?ve come, although Hubby had rude service first time around. Very stylish clean decor. Side note: Hubby hates their uncomfy steel chairs.
Off The Hook – The food is off-the-hook at this place. This is the best Thai food I've ever had. The place gets very busy at the peak times (eg, 12:00 - 1:00PM), and service can be difficult at times, but I still love Osha.
Glam look exceeds food – I've been to the unglam, original Osha which was the best of all Osha locations. Visited this location around 10 times since it's close to work. Each time the food & service is worse than before. Last night will be the last. My friend ordered a salmon dish consisting of diced salmon covered with curry sauce - there were BONES in the fish! It took a while to flag down the negligent waitress to inquire if bones are supposed to be in the dish. I guess she didn't know what "bones" meant and just repeated "do you want to change to something else". So a simple noodle dish was ordered instead. As soon as the dishes were cleared, the same sub-par waitress dumped the check on the table without asking if we'd like anything else. We wanted to order dessert & I had to jump in with the request for a dessert menu before she scurried away. The food is lackluster & overpriced for the quality & quantity. Really, charging another $2 for 1 additional scoop of rice is ridiculous. All the nickel & diming must pay for the glam look to attract yuppies to the new locations. Better food & better prices at King of Thai Noodle.
BAD BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE – Used to love this place till my last experience....ordered all vegetarian food- one dish had hair strand in it - so sent it back - another noodle dish had chicken in it - i had a bite and then realized it so had to send it back as well.no adjustment to the bill as an apology or even a free dessert was offered (like any good restaurant will do) -after paying the bill - when we just mentioned it to the maitre d' - he rudely said "so what do you want - a free dessert?" They just lost a die hard customer.....also we had to ask for our check like 5 times inspite of telling our waitress that we were in a rush to catch the july/4 fireworks
Don't know why this place gets high ratings – We tried this restaurants a few times because it's close to both our place and our friend's place but food is only so-so and service is horrible. We even tried take out a couple times and they can't seem to get the order right. When we dine there, the food has way too much MSG and the staff doesn't care about the customers. The steel chairs are not comfortable, won't recommend sitting in them in the summer because your thighs will have the chair seat imprints! Eeekk!
Horrible Service! – I've never been excited to give a place a bad review before!
The setting is nice, if you are into the trendy, minimalist decor, neo-dot-com look of granite, uncomfortable wire chairs, etc. You will be joined by hundreds of your kin, well-dressed, loud, and talking on their cell phones.
Congratulations OSHA - the worst service I have ever experienced in the City. The hostess was extremely rude! We had made reservations for 12. Yet they give us a table for 6. When trying to ask the hostess why we have a table for 6 when we made reservations for 12, she simply stated ?We?re busy.? When there was only 2 other tables occupied. Frustrated, we had to cause a commotion to get another table to accommodate the rest of our party. At that point we should have left, however we were still hoping that our food would be worth it. Well folks, it wasn?t! The food was un-flavorful and way over priced. We never received an apology from the hostess on how rude she was being, so I am forced to say that I will never attempt to eat here again and would never recommend this place. Ever! No stars if I could. If I wanted sh*tty service, I?d stay at home and save the money!
