Found rubber band in the food and a lot of MSG. We found a rubber band in one of our dishes. That should have been a sign to leave. There was so much MSG in all the food it was horrible. My friend stayed up all night after ,because she had stomach pains. If you value your health this is not a place you want to go to. The service is slow and very bad. When we pointed out the rubber band the waitress didn?t even apologize just rolled her eyes. The Manu also did not mention the 18% gratuity we had to pay for the bad service with a group of only 6 people

Food A+, Service F-. As a very frequent patron of Osha Thai on Second Street, I find the food and atmosphere to be quite wonderful, however, in the dozens, if not close to a hundred of visits over the past year alone, with four trips just this week alone, I am always disappointed at the often curt and rude service at this establishment. While the food clearly compensates for this, it is a shame that management does not focus on fixing this issue.

Third branch of local noodle-house chain serves traditional and innovative Thai cuisine in a stylized SoMa space.. In Short
Dim lighting, exotic art and modern furnishings juxtaposed against rough-hewn, brick walls create an appealing backdrop to this eatery's simultaneously traditional and inventive menu, which changes monthly. The more conventional offerings include pan-fried noodle staples, like spicy laht nah and pad thai, while progressive renditions incorporate locally grown ingredients like stir-fried silver noodles with garlic and egg, calamari, prawns, chicken, spinach and cabbage from Napa Valley.

Ok food, dreadful service. I've eaten here a few times and each time there was something to ruin my dining experience. The food's quite good, but doesn't make up for the appalling, snotty service you're pretty much guaranteed. The chairs are like sitting in a fryer basket, i.e. uncomfortable, tables too close together, and the place is always cold!

Oh, and what's with the ladies' restroom?

so yummy and cheap. I went there recently for a birthday party. Since the party was so big we had to be broken into two tables, which was fine. They only have one option per wine - ie only one cab, one pinot, one zin. We ordered the Cab and it was terrific and well price ($30.) All the entrees were great (except for the potato somosa appitizers-ew) and so cheap! I was stuffed and it came to $25 a person, that's including covering the birthday girl. It was a really great night!

will not take reservations. Will not take reservation for a party of 5 for lunch although I pointed out that their website specifically states that parties of 5 or more can make reservations.

Decor can't make up the disgusting food. i went there with a group of friends. my friend and i both ordered the beef noodle soup which comes in a boat shaped bowl. let me tell you, it was THE MOST SALTIEST noodles i have ever had. it was like the cook dumped in 5 packs of top ramen MSG into the broth. entire bowl was practically inedible. i won't recommend eating here. your better off eating at the one on geary st.

What a treat. I have eaten at Osha on Second and in the Embarcadero and both are outstanding. The curry dishes are wonderful and the pad thai is excellent. The food has the crisp spicy flavor of Thailand. The service is top notch. All of the Osha restaurants are so good and so popular that you will need reservations, but you won't be disappointed with the meal.

My Favorite Thai...but prices have gone WAY up!!!. You know, by now, I should know the routine: Great Thai restarant opens up, offering great food at unbelievably low prices. Once they've got the patronage of the surrounding area, they jack the prices RIGHT UP! When I first moved to San Francisco 3 years ago, Osha Thai on Valencia St had just opened. It was GREAT: Excellent food, beautiful presentation, nice modern decor, and GREAT prices. Everything was right around the $10 mark (with a good many items below that). I knew it was too good to be true; that it couldn't last. And I was right. Turns out that those were introductory prices. Because not too much later, the prices went WAY up, so that, on average, you were spending at least $13-14 per dish (if not more). So, when the new Osha on 2nd Street opened up, I KNEW how it was gonna go, and I warned my friends that it wouldn't last. And again, I'm right. Prices (which were once $10 or less) are now in the $13-14 range, if not higher. While I can justify that for a sit-down meal, I'm afraid that is just too much to justify take-out. So will not be doing take-out from there quite as much anymore. That said, however, the food really IS excellent, and it's a great place to bring a date, or groups of friends for events, as the room is so cool. So I'm still giving it a high rating. I just wish the prices were lower.
