What People Are Saying About Osha Thai Restaurant

In Short – Dim lighting, exotic art and modern furnishings juxtaposed against rough-hewn, brick walls create an appealing backdrop to this eatery's simultaneously traditional and inventive menu, which changes monthly. The more conventional offerings include pan-fried noodle staples, like spicy laht nah and pad thai, while progressive renditions incorporate locally grown ingredients like stir-fried silver noodles with garlic and egg, calamari, prawns, chicken, spinach and cabbage from Napa Valley.
Editor's Tips
- What to Drink:
- The wine list changes frequently to complement the seasonal menu updates, but rare varietals from Mumbai are consistently offered.
Great "In-Betweener"
by Lauren Hannah at Citysearch
Osha is a fairly trendy Thai restaurant chain throughout the city. It's slightly overpriced, but it's pretty decent food. It's mainstream Thai, although they do have some authentic dishes.
It's located right by my office so we tend to take new hires there for lunch. The Tuna Poke salad is really great -- they give you a large portion of tuna (raw) to go with a seasoned and dressed cucumber/seaweed salad. It's healthy and refreshing.
It's a little on the expensive side, but definitely worth it if you're looking for an "in-between" restaurant to go to.
- Pros: fresh fish, trendy thai
- Cons: a little pricey
Terrible Hostess
by mandeesfsan at Citysearch
I normally like osha thai but the service on friday night was terrible....After being told by the hostess that our table would be ready in 15 minutes about on hour later, we left.
Be upfront and say one hour if that is the case. Also, dont make up excuses as to why our table wasn’t freeing up.......wont go there again!
One of the top 5 thai restaurants in San Francisco

I've always been a fan of OSHA Thai; especially when I worked a couple doors down from the SOMA location. I appreciate OSHA Thai for introducing me to Pad Se Ew and Volcanic beef. I like places that I visit that are consistent, and OSHA Thai quality and taste are always deliver. That said, they changed their menu a year and 1/2 ago ... decreasing the size of their portions, and removing a couple of favorites from the menu. Also, they started charging for sharing plates ... hey, I always think of Thai food as a family style meal, and I like to share. What's up?
- Pros: the food
- Cons: the cold environment, the wait staff

Good Thai food
by lkpca at Citysearch
Have only come here for lunches. We always get the penang chicken curry, very good. Usually the pineapple prawns or duck does it for me. This time decided to try the angry prawns. Giant prawns and eggplant nicely done, but the sauce was fussy with too many ingredients and too much oil. Good service last several times we?ve come, although Hubby had rude service first time around. Very stylish clean decor. Side note: Hubby hates their uncomfy steel chairs.
