A Great night out. (BYOB)
by LaurenHussy
A practically-guaranteed great night out. Grab some friends, some beer and enjoy the show.
Denice is a former beginning student (as I read on her other review of SFCC Comedy College) who wasn't told what she wanted to hear in her beginner class. So rather than accept whatever criticism she got, she has to lash out and blame the messenger.
I too was a beginning student at one point and had to face the facts that: 1.) I'm not as funny as I wish I was. 2.) stand-up is harder than it looks.
Accept it and move along, Denice.
Don't blame a totally legit comedy school / comedy club.
- Pros: cheap, entertaining,
- Cons: occasional dud ((but c'mon, it's performance!)
Save your time and money

The show I saw was embarassingly amateur but not in a good way. Too much low grade humor and a very rowdy teenaged crowd. We had a bad time and laughed very little. There was a woman who performed who was so old and she was shaking violently. I thought she was going to pass out. She was so horribly unfunny that it was awkward. I've never seen so many untalented people performing for a paying crowd in my life.
Sad but true, San Francisco Comedy College is a sad, third rate venue for a bunch of sore (and elderly) losers.
- Pros: Cheap
- Cons: No entertainment value, loud, immature crowds, depressing atmosphere
Best place to see local up and coming comedians
by stanronn
This place is not only a great comedy club, it is also a school for people to learn to become comedians. What a cool idea! I saw a sign outside and decided to check it out on a whim. Who would have thought a club would be located on the 7th floor of a building. Everyone was very nice and the place had a very intimate feel to it. They don't have a drink miniumum so I got to see a great show at a fair price, $10. I also was able to bring in a burrito and eat it right in the club. They don't serve food, but they do sell sodas and water. I'm definately coming back!
