Good food, Good price, Good service. This is my favorite local sushi place. It is the very best sushi I've had for the price. They could certainly charge MUCH more. It is definitely the best sushi in the neighborhood. The service is friendly too. It is a small restaurant with only a few tables in front, a sushi bar, and a few tables in back. The atmosphere is quiet and the decor is simple. Frequently the owner comes to our table to greet us. I really like the gyoza and the fried crab appetizers. They have some very creative rolls as well. Ok, this is not high-end sushi, but you can't expect that for the prices they charge. The other two affordable sushi places in the immediate area (Yo Yo and We Be) are cheaper but they both serve terrible food. You can get better sushi in the city if you want to pay $$$$. However, this really is the VERY best quality sushi I've had in this price range.
WAY too expensive!. First off, when chirashi (assorted sashimi slices over sushi rice) is $14.50, I expect it to be fresh fish with a good assortment for that price. It was not. I got 4 types of fish with 3 slices each. That is extremely little. Salmon, tuna, hamachi (i think) and some other white fish. Texture wise, a bit on the tough side except the hamachi. Miso tasted too diluted. Usually I can't finish a chirashi dinner or I'll be way too full afterwards. I was still HUNGRY! Since I got it for delivery, the guy made me order a $20 minimum (even though it says it's a $15 minimum). So I also ordered a rock n roll roll. $8 for 8 pieces is completely not worth it. (try yum yum sushi on irving. 6 pieces, $3) But I thought I'd give it a try. I had to polish the whole thing off with the chirashi to be full. The actual roll was not that great. The eel was old, chewy, and oily. Lastly, when I ordered, they told me it would get here in 30 min, 45 min the latest, but most likely 30 min since they weren't busy at all. I waited an hour! totally not cool. He also didn't give me a total. In my mind $14.50+$8.00=$25 with tip.(Unfortunately I forgot to add the tax, completely my mistake). So I only gave the guy $25 when he got here and he audibly exclaimed "Oh My God!" before I could even apologize and ask him to wait so I could get a few more dollars. So forget that! I don't need rudeness + expensiveness + not top quality food. That all equals to me never ordering from them again. Unless I am dumb enough to forget, which then I would deserve it. If they're prices were a good $3 less for everything, I might consider ordering again. But until then, I'd rather just avoid all of them.
Perfect for sushi delivery.
I've tried to have sushi delivered from a couple of places before, and it was always a nightmare.
In contrast, Crazy Sushi delivers delicious, fresh sushi, super fast. It is a little expensive, but definitely worth it. Be sure to check out their menu to see some of their unique roll creations, and always be sure to ask about the specials of the day.
I highly recommend the crispy roll - delicious. And, if you're not in the sushi mood, their Chicken Teriyaki is also very unique and delicious.
I've already had them deliver to me over a dozen times, and it's been fresh and delicious every time. You can access their menu at crazysushisf dot com
it's wonderful. This is my favorite sushi. The food is good , nice and fresh and the price is resonable. Parking is hard sometimes on the weekend.
That Not-So-Fresh Feeling.
A search for sushi in the Mission lead to this place. The menu read well and we were excited to try it out, however, we left extremely disappointed. The experience started out decently with some sake and a tasty Eggplant Salad though non-traditional Gyoza, which can be fine, were covered in a viscous, overly sweet, sticky sauce. It was a miss. The service was attentive and considerate, but was over the top and in your face.
Though inventive, the sushi lacked freshness. The fish was noticeably discolored, and some plastic wrap used for rolling remained on several pieces. Throughout the meal we were afraid this might become the nightmare bad raw fish experience.
Overall this was a bad experience and I would not recommend it to anyone. Fresh sashimi is the key to good sushi and Crazy Sushi simply didnt deliver enough to warrant a repeat visit.
TIGHT. when you don't want to go outside and want food delivered into your mouth, call their delivery. i tried raja before and they were rudely reluctant to deliver. here, they were so excited to deliver. food isn't GREAT but not bad for quick delivery and extremely friendly service and cheap sushi. sashimi wasn't bad. thanks for being quick and friendly. i like foods.
Good Sushi. I've been here for once but for sure i will come back. They are friendly, good sushi.
Wow!!!. I love this place. After trying sushi restaurants in Concord, Rockridge and San Francisco I have decided I like Crazy Sushi the best. They have orginal rolls, like the Deep Fried Roll that I love!! The owner and waitresses are great, prompt and very helpful. They are willing to make things not on the menu if you happen to want something else. I recommend this place to all my friends.
Delicious Sushi.
WOW! We loved this place. Delicious creative sushi in addition to the normal nigiri and maki.
Highly recommend Crazy Sushi. One taste and you'll always want to come back for more.
Try the 16th street and the Lesbionic, and the deep-fried roll...you will not be disappointed!
Good value for Fun sushi!. I have been back to this place many times, and i will definitely go back again. The waitress was friendly and the owner was nice as well. They have the traditional nigiri sushi and they also have sushi with their twist on it. It very good for the price and for the food they serve. I go there when I don't want to cook and I just want good eat and not for a lot of $$. The environment is cozy and comfortable.
