Great music.... I went this past Friday night. I planned on meeting friends for a round of drinks, then bouncing somewhere else. But the music was so good that we ended up staying...they didn't close til 3 am! I'd go again...sexy music, good service, and a fun, down 2 earth crowd...met sum cool folks!…
Fun Spot..... My friends and I had our birthday party here two Saturdays ago. We rented the VIP Lounge upstairs and had a fabulous time. It is one of the best VIP areas I've seen in a myriad of the clubs I've been to in S.F. A lot of room and comfortable booths to sit...even a bed if you want to lounge with your friends. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodated our needs. the music was perfect (hip hop, reggae and dance hall) and got the party moving. they even have speakers in the VIP Lounge so you can hear what is going on without having to go to the dance floor which was quite crowded on this particular night. The main room with the bar is cool too and the booths lining the wall are comfortable and provide an excellent way to see and be seen. I'll definitely be returning to Duplex for other parties (they have different music different nights of the week), as I love the intimate lounge atmosphere which is more typical of NYC then here in S.F. I suggest you check it out too--I don't think you'll be disappointed!…
DO NOT GO HERE!!. We are not weird people that get in altercations, but this place treated us so rudely that I want to spread the word to others to never go to this place!. My girlfriend was approached by one of the bouncers at 1:30 am ( with other people around us with drinks in their hand) and coped and attitude about her finishing her drink, tore the beer out of her hand, spilt it on her and then spilt the beer on the floor. Mind you, my friend was not intoxicated, was not causing trouble, and was simply talking to another friend of ours in a corner of the bar. Completely unnecessary behavior on the bouncer's part. When we went to complain to the manager, he gave us even more attitude, gave us the beer money back and told us to get the f--k out of his bar. I cannot belive we were treated in this manner. Again, we are normal people, two women, not causing any trouble , trying to have a good evening. We have never been treated so disrespectufully by anybody. There's not much I can do other than warn others that this place is run by inept, rude and unprofesional people and they do not deserve your business. STAY AWAY!…
Hot Spot!!!. I found a new hot spot last Sat night. We started off at Levende lounge was so so, and we ventured three blocks to Duplex, I have been hearing about it and never been. Pleasantly surprise it was really cool. Lots of cuties that night, including the staffs! They were very friendly which is not too easy to find in the club industry. Everyone was dancing and the place was open after hours and it waas still happening when we left around 3 am. Definitely recommend it, my new hot spot!…
Old crowd. Duplex had a very old crowd on Saturday night! And this is coming for someone who's 37! Most people were in their 40s, 50s & even 60s! I expected a Euro-chic venue, but noticed from the moment I entered that it was full of oldies! I went with a group of people and we unfortunately went in without sending one person to scope it out - I highly recommend you do this before committing to it. It's a shame though... the venue is cute, the music good, and the bartenders friendly. However, I won't be going back until I hit 50!…
