Changed my world...
by reneerotten
After years of hearing about pilates, and taking classes in gyms, I finally gave a proper pilates studio a try. What works for me is the kind of place where you feel taken care of, and not one of 50 in a group. Third Street has that vibe. They also have a bunch of different instructors to choose from which makes it just that much more interesting. Recently they added some yoga classes, which is cool because space is limited so the classes feel intimate. Best yoga class is on Saturday with Karen, "yoga fun" she calls it. Third Street also introduced me to hula hoop, which is another neat thing; the owner likes bringing in a variety of local fitness folks to try new things.
- Pros: individual care
- Cons: off the beaten path
Holistic Body Work

I started my journey into the world of Pilates in March this year and Third Street Pilates has been a wonderful source of inspiration, motivation and VERY talented staff. Megan provided the introduction to the practice for me and set the foundation. I am now working with Jaime and I truly believe her approach will take me to a whole new level. My main motivation to get started with Pilates was to improve my golf fitness. It has done that and more. My body awareness has increased pretty dramatically and that has all sorts of benefits for your general well being. I highly recommend Third Street Pilates and you should take advantage of their $150 intro package for 3 private sessions. Great way to get started with a highly personalized touch.
don't go to 3rd street pilates!

Apart from an amazing instructor (Jonathan), 3rd street pilates has to be one of the most disorganized businesses I have ever subscribed to. Payment scheduling was always off; classes are double booked; you sign up for a class online, pay for it then show up and there is no instructor; they ask you to track your own sessions and payment schedule, then tell you you owe 'X' dollars. Honestly, there are plenty of better pilates studios in the city. Absolutely horrendous
- Pros: jonathan is great instructor
- Cons: everything else was terrible
