Wow Who ever wrote that review last review must eat lunch at Mcdonalds I just moved into the neighborhood and have been there for lunch three times and the anti pasti is great, home made mozzarella chioggia beets from a local organic farm and thin pizzas from a wood burning oven
thats just scratching the surface the dinner menu is amazing they have this pork chop cooked on a mesquit grill that is to die for also try the home made pastas
I highly recomend checking out the great room and service and food at Zuppa
Its a great addition to the San francisco restaurant line up
not a good lunch place. Small menu and very slow service. There were two other parties and we still felt like we had to flag the waiter down. Also, he didn't tell us he substituted one of the appetizers, antipasti because they were out. We ordered appetizers first, but clearly we were no way of finishing it. After waiting a long while, we had to ask him for our entrees, and he said where are we going to put it? He didn't even put in our orders! We were ready to go! So we ended up telling him to box up our pizzas. Terrible service! Not much of a lunch menu and the antipasti was terrible. Although soup, of course, salad and pizza was good.
Good, but expensive food.. If money is not an issue for you, come here. I came here for dinner last night because open table said that Zuppa was a $30 per person meal place. I should have first looked at City Search becuase my friend and I spent $70 each. The food was good. I especially enjoyed the Coppa, Vongole, and Linguine Vongole e Gamberi al Cartoccio. The Insalata Croccante was fair and the Panna Cotta was nothing spectacular. The Vodka Gimlet and Lemon Drop was to die for.
New pastry chef is a great improvement.
There's a new pastry chef - Laura Bradford I believe, who has done wonders with the dessert menu. Tiramisu and Blackberry icee stuff (i feel like maybe its called gravel?) were both great.
Pizza is always good as well.
Overpriced & Undersized : (. Our first night in SF.......dinner was very disappointing & overpriced!!!! To start off...we had salad which consisted of a couple pieces of lettuce with some vinegar on it. There was absolutely no taste to it. I ordered the pork rigatoni. It tasted like a bland Michelina's frozen dinner & a very small portion. My husband ordered the pasta with shrimp & mussels. It tasted OK, but they gave him 1 shrimp & 3 tiny mussels with a few strands of pasta noodles. We did not order dessert because we were not happy with our meal. So, we left there very hungry. Even the people sitting right next to us (tiny, tiny tables squished together) thought that the salad was ridiculous.
MMMMMMM! Great food.
Check this place out Great food, great service and great all Italian wine list.
Try the pizzas from the wood burning pizza oven
this place realy brings back memories of the finest meals in italy
love to eat at the bar
zuppa is our favorite.
my husband and I have been long time fans of Globe and LOVE Zuppa. The space is dynamic,
huge open kitchen, big cielings. The staff is great effecient, knowledgeable and friendly.
The pizza is the best in s.f. I love the rigatoni and we always share the steak. The wine list is all italian and the staff really encourage you to try something new. I've never been disappointed.
Better Pizza than the rest and such a great wine menu. best pizza, reminds me of when i went to Italy. The wine list is steller, so many choices at such a good price. I was treated great the entire time i was there, and my waitress, Tiffiany, was so sweet and attentive. By far the best experience i have had in a long time in a resturant. The finsihing touches of the espresso and Necterine plum Tort where sublime. Since it's opening i have been there at least 10 times and it is great everytime.
Great Service and Food but.... with the joint only one third full you still had to yell for the person across from you so they could hear. Plus, the tables are painfully small for the size of the plates, silverware etc. I would love to go back but dining is such an environment is not pleasing.
