Great Service Period – Well i thought ok who would use email to make a appointment. To my surprise i wrote a email at 8am and got a response at 9am which was great because no service will get back to you that quick. I guess i was trying to figure out what could be wrong with this place but didnt come up with anything i did it all on purpose and got all the answers i was looking for. It was a friday morning and i wanted to frustrate the girl who was answering my emails and she never budged she answered all my questions . They definitely have great customer service and so you can imagine how the staff treated me when i got there. Its a very fun upbeat place and not once did i feel feminine there i felt like it was one big party with lots of laughs and great conversations very kick back my life is technical enough without it being like that on the outside. 45 dollars for a cut well lets face it well worth it and the email service is well worth it as well. Thank you for putting up with my annoyance but you truly did pass the test of service i have been looking for. I have reccommended you to all my colleagues hope you can keep up with those email and cuts the pressure will be on.
Terrible Customer Service to a VERY Regular Client – I am a VERY regular client at Spargo and have been happy with their services, until recently. First, Alicia is not there anymore, which immediately made me question if I should return since I only visited Spargo because of her services. I decided to book an appointment for a massage, facial, manicure and pedicure and called to schedule it. When I called, Diane picked up the phone and I informed her what I was looking for. The first thing she did was laugh at me and then told me that she'd have to put me on hold and then stuck me on hold before I could get a word out. After she started laughing at me, I immediately hung up and decided I'm never returning. I easily spent over $200 a month at Spargo every month and to have someone laugh at me is out of line. Now, I'll be laughing all the way over to another spa.
In addition, since Alicia left, I've heard it hasn't been the same and I wouldn't return if Alicia isn't there. She seemed to be the most astute at what she did. The girls at the front desk were so brain dead most of the time that I sometimes felt as if I needed a defibrilator to shock them back into existence.
Bottom line--DON'T GO. If they treat me that way, I cringe to see what would happen to a new client.
Failed to put my appointment in the book, took someone else instead – I have no choice but to rate Spargo "not recommended". They failed to put my appointment into the system, so when I arrived they were not able to take me. There was an opening when I called, so it must have been filled after I had taken the slot. It was obvious when the owner was shown the name of the person in my slot that it was a known (and valued) customer, as opposed to me...a new customer. Up until that point it had been a positive experience. I found them through City Search. They had good reviews. Their website was clear. They had a phone number for same-day appointments. The owner answered personally and had available slots. I gave my name and number. Easy. It was a 20-minute walk to the salon. Nice. They looked at me blankly as I gave my name. Worrisome. The owner came out and said it was her fault. Nice but worthless. She offered another slot in an hour and fifteen minutes. Nice, but worthless. There was one solution....they could have honored my original appointment and apologized to the person who booked after I did. They made their choice. I have no choice: one star (I wish there were a zero)
One of my favorite places in The City - Alicia is the best! – Alicia's the best facialist I've ever had the pleasure to meet! And such a friendly and accomodating staff!
Amazing Cut, Attentive to Service – Had my hair cut here twice now since moving to SF. It is definately my place to go for a great haircut. More on the spa priced side but definately worth it. Employees are attentive, kind, and very friendly. The bonus is that they are available in the evening. Only downside is that I have tried to get a massage there and she never seems to be available when
I make an appointment. Other then that they are awesome!
Truly Professional snd talented – I also had the best shampoo ever! Thanks for a great break in my day. The cut has lasted and the color looks so natural, like I never had it done.
Facial Massage by Alicia – If facial conjures images of having a bunch of goop on your face with cucumber peels on your eyes, so you can look pretty, youve got the wrong impression.
Alicia doesnt rub goop into your face. Her hands dance to the tune of the music playing softly in the background. She not only addresses your entire face, but your neck and shoulders as well. I could feel energy streaming down my meridians all the way to my fingers and toes. Her touch kept my mind engaged and assisted me in surrendering the constant chatter of thought going on in my brain until there was no thought left only sensation. I had never experienced my face like that before and never experienced my face connected to my whole body like that before.
I also left the session feeling well-educating about my skin and a simple, effective skin care routine.
High quality – My girlfriend has been telling me to get waxed for ages and I finally broke down and stopped at Spargo.
I was greeted by Alicia who took me back to the waxing room. All and all, I wasn't really looking forward to it.
But the music was cool and Alicia was entertaining during what would have been a totally uncomfortable situation.
It hurt a lot less than expected and my girlfriend was stoked when I came home.
So if you need to get a back wax, ask for Alicia at Spargo.
Executive spa in the Financial District is a men's-only haven for guys into grooming. – In Short
From the brown-hued leather sofas to the big-screen televisions blaring the Giants game and movies like "Die Hard," it's clear that this is boys-only territory. While services like manicures, waxing, massages and facials take aim at metrosexuals, the haircuts, ear hair trims and shoe shines at the mahogany platform stand pay homage to neighborhood barbershops of yore. All services include complimentary drinks and hot face towels.
Skeptical at first, but a great find – My girlfriend purchased a gift certificate for me at Spargo. I was leery at first b/c it was a Spa for men, and I don't consider myself a "metro" who needs and likes these services. Anyway I made an appointment and went during my lunch. I got a excellent hair cut. The type of hair cut that makes me wonder why in the heck did I ever go to Super Cuts. It isn't that much more expensive. I wish I had the stylist name b/c I would highly recomend her. After my hair cut, I got 30 minute facial and neck massage from Alicia. You should seriously ask for her when you make your appointment. She rocks!!! I was glowing and walking on water when I left her tranquil oasis. All of the ladies are very friendly and professional. I left Spargo with an extra pep in my step.
