In Short – This funky, industrial space has corrugated steel walls, large windows, and hipsters seated at marble cafe tables. Rotating art and panels of brightly colored fabric draped from the ceiling help warm it up. The Cal-Med menu includes a lemony arugula salad topped with fried artichokes, roasted pearl onions and goat cheese. Less compelling is the under-seasoned namesake "Triptych of Halibut." Mass-produced desserts like lemon bars and brownies confirm the kitchen doubles as a catering outfit.
Editor's Tips
- Where to Sit:
- There's a hidden back patio filled with plants that's an ideal daytime spot for brunch or lunch.
- The Extras:
- The unexpected disco-inspired bathroom feels like a '70s film and TV memorabilia museum doubling as a closet of one of the Charlie's Angels.
Bottomless Mimosa's @ Brunch
by llyonize at Citysearch
While visiting my sister for the weekend we wanted bottomless mimosa's, so she found Triptych and made a reservation online. When we got there we wanted to sit on the patio but unfortunately it was not open yet, so we sat inside which was fine, it was not too busy when we got there but slowly started to fill up. They had some great looking things on the menu it was hard to choose, I ended up getting the Croque Madame, which I was really pleased with. They also had bottomless mimosa's - raspberry and mango, the only "problem" if you want to call it that is that they were a little slow in bringing them. I would recommend this place for brunch for sure.
A hidden gem

This place never ever has disappointed me. Every dish I have ever tried is innovative and done very well. There are plenty of great veggie options as well as a great flank steak and burger. My favorite is always the Quinoa plate. You will not miss meat on this plate. Oh and yes the Sweet Potato fries our out of this world. I say it’s a hidden gem because you never have a problem getting in. great weekend brunch, awesome for a healthy lunch and perfect for a romantic dinner. Great art shows and a bathroom that makes you realize how creative the owners must be which reflects from the décor to the food. Triptych is one of my favorite restaurants in SF.
- Pros: Food Service Quality Price

Fancy American Food

This delightful little spot may not look like much outside, but it sure is vibrant on the inside. Local art adorns much of the walls. The bar extends into a long hallway displaying an art gallery leading to their disco-infused bathroom (disco balls and ABBA included). Their menu consists mostly of dressed up American food, but the highlight was the freshly ground turkey burger season to perfection on a ciabatta roll served with sweet potato fries. Their beer selections are exotic and the service is supreme. I'll be going back to this place very soon.
- Pros: Delicious burgers
- Cons: None
DON'T GO HERE.
by Foodie83 at Citysearch
Need I say more? Many people at the restaurant complained about food not coming out. Then, we sat down and ordered our food which took forever. Then, the waitress came out and said, they ran out of certain dish. Why did it take that long to find out they didn't have crab cake? Then, they said, "everything is done but we ran out of the crab cake." This should have been the Q but we re-ordered for the crab cake. Another 45 minutes later, 2 dishes came out, cold, then, another 3, then, 1 -- the crab cake they ran out all of a sudden, appeared. What the heck??? Don't go here.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Long wait, Cold food, Over Cooked, Bad Service
Great Chai and comfortable atmosphere.

It was a cold day in the city and I ran into this little gem south of market. I asked for the chai and it was the best ever... try for yourself..
