Romantic, Knowledgable, Wine Bar Nook: Snobs Not Included.
This tucked away romantic hidey-hole in the back of a boutique hotel screams for a tryst--or maybe just that perfect first date. Even budget-mindful wine-geeks would agree, there's something for everyone on their menu. Occassionally available cheese nibbles at the bar will tide you over until dinner, and the staff actually knows about all the wine on the menu. You can be dull and ignorant about anything, and they'll still treat you with respect and leave you with your dignity intact (this is a must, when fumbling through a first date). Try a wine flight, or try a bottle--cozy seating and dimmed, maudlin lighting combined with the warm glow of a Malbec buzz will get you closer in no time.

Best intimate wine bar.
Great wine list that changes monthly. Limited food choices. Great staff. Knowledgable owners. You see a rare tourist once in a while

Great wine bar!.
This cozy wine bar is a great place to go on a gloomy day. When we went, the special was South African wine, which was spectacular. We and two wine flight (which had ample servings) and chose two cheeses to complement the wines (which came with bread and dried fruit). I definitely recommend this place.

Comfy. Cozy atmosphere with a fun wine list.
Dave and Angela are the perfect hosts and do a great job with thier wine list for variety, price point and uniqueness. Its not a "see and to be seen" place, but a great place to kick back with chill friends and loved ones.
Can't recommend enough...ENJOY!

My daughter lives in San Francisco and took me to Hidden Vine for my birthday after dinner. What a treat!!! I loved it. The owners are so welcoming and knowledgeable about the wine. It truly was an awesome experience. I have recommended it to all my firends who visit the San Francisco area. It's a must go!

BEST WINE BAR EVER!.
The Hidden Vine is the best wine bar I've ever been to. My husband and I discovered it by mistake one evening last year and have been there 1-2 nights a week ever since. The owners, David & Angela, are extremely knowledgable and friendly. They remembered our names right away and we always feel at home when we go there. Not to mention the fact that the wine selection is fantastic!

stodgy redefined.
"cozy" is always a codeword for an elephant we're trying to ignore. Here it's a certain stodginess that emanates from the painfully quaint lobby interior and the geriatric, if very nice and knowledgeable, attitude of the staff. Still, the wine selection was fairly nice and reasonably priced. many many other places other than this to visit, but if you're fleeing le colonial, it's an easy skip and jump

Great Find!.
I highly reI highly recommend this wine bar. It has a relaxed, comfortable feel with plush seats and lit candles that warm the space.
The wine choices are top notch with the ability to compare varietals with various regions (i.e.. California Cabernet compared with Spains bold reds).
The Hidden Vine is a must if you like drinking wine and live in the San Francisco area.
I highly recommend a visit.
