COFFEE!!!.
Two words for you: Blue Bottle.
Yes. This place serves Blue Bottle Coffee and when we just moved our offices just down the street, it makes the enjoyment of the best coffee on earth much closer!
Their salads and pastries are delicious, too. But seriously, BLUE BOTTLE!
It's like art.
Tasty sandwiches!. My husband and I stopped in here last time we were visiting SF and were very impressed with the food. Tasty stuff, fresh ingredients, nice folks.
Fresh Organic Sandwiches and Salads. I end up eating lunch here about once a week since it's right next door to my office. It quickly has become one of my favorite spots. I absolutely love the honey-lime avocado chicken sandwich. The one time I deviated from that I got the PLT which was also very good. Every sandwich comes with a mixed green salad, and all ingredients are always fresh. I enjoy the mood in this place - the woman behind the counter is always really friendly, as are all the guys making the sandwiches and salads. There is a selection of magazines on the counter to look through while you wait. I would recommend taking your food to go since seating is very limited.
Suits and dreadlocks mingle at popular lunch counter specializing in gourmet sandwiches.. The motley production line of sandwich makers behind this busy counter may look like moonlighting bike couriers, but they do wonderful things with brie. Gourmet salads, wraps, and panini are made fresh to order and feature organic produce and ingredients delivered daily. Favorites include the turkey and artichoke panini with fontina cheese, and the prosciutto, asparagus and Parmesan panini with chili-lime mayo. Despite its crunchie appeal, the space is made slick by a collection of contemporary art.
Much Needed In Fidi. I am there for breakfast and lunch several times a month and I'm never disappointed. My favorite is their Chicken Salad Sandwich (their version...with pesto and green apples) and for breakfast I get the European Style yogurt with granola and fresh fruit (usually 5-6 kinds). Service is casual, friendly, and quick (never too long of a wait) for such a busy downtown place. If you're anywhere near Kearny I'd check it out. They also have umbrella seating in the alleyway that maybe not everyone knows about.
