Great, All Around!. My husband and I stumbled in here last night for dinner and were greeted with great food, decent wine list, live music, impeccable service and a new place to make a regular spot when we are in North Beach. The fig app was to die for! You will not be disappointed.

Best Dinner Date. Cafe Devine Is a great place to eat. I had a wonderful date there this weekend. She had recomended this place; and I had heared of it before, but had never been. The retaurant was full and right away a waiter greated me and sat me at the bar. While I waited, I sipped a glass of wine, and listened to this guy and this lady playing guitars. When my date arrived we were seated and the waiter gave us his name, we ordered drinks, and apps. We were both so nervouse that at the begining of dinner we weren't really talking much. We talked about what we each do and what our plans are but it soon got dull. The Waiter returned with our drinks and I think he knew I was nervouse because he started telling corney jokes and being extra nice, trying to break the ice between us. He started asking us questions and being very friendly then it happened. He asked her where she was from before she moved here. She said she was from Cambridge, Ma. which was strange because I just moved here from Medford, Ma. and grew up in Cambridge. Needless to say we had much to talk about now. Dinner was deliciouse, and the music was great, and the service was best of all. As it turns out we grew up a few blocks from each other. We spent the rest of the night talking, and we're going out again next weekend. I'm glad she recomended that place.

Great spot for Sunday Brunch. Walked by and figured this great looking spot would be $12 or so for breakfast, but I was pleasantly surprised to spend only about $7. I had the quiche of the day and my partner had the waffle with bananas. Both were fresh and light. The lattes and mimosas were both excellent. We sat right at the front window and had a great time people watching. The space itself is full of light with huge windows and high ceilings. It's the perfect space you want to be in to start a weekend day.

nice neighborhood spot in busy N Beach. Went Fri evening 6:30 where our friend was holding court. Simple menu and foods that are quite reasonable. Most of the tables were gone by 7, so i don't know how it's like to get a table. but homey and down to earth in a busy area.

Lamb Lentil stew was just ok, but i like the spot and relaxed atmosphere.

Weird thing, there is a safe in the restroom.

great location. We went here as a second pick after the wait at Mama's was too long to bear. Most of the food was good but nothing outstanding. Good service and fun location though, perhaps their dinner menu is more exciting?

A+ Comfort Food & People Watching Location. Cafe Divine is very inviting; by day it is rather sunny with big windows and outdoor tables overlooking Washington Square Park and by night, it is decorated with white holiday lights and votive candles glow on every table. Friday night, I dined solo and had a really nice experience. It was cold and foggy outside and I sat inside at a corner table with a perfect view of the park and everyone passing by. Divine has a wonderful prie fix menu where you choose from one of the selected nightly dinners and it is accompanied by warm, marinated olives, soup or salad, bread and either a glass of wine or dessert. The olives were wonderfully flavorful, the bread was fresh, the house mixed salad was crisp and tasty, the lamb stew and garlic mashed potatoes were delicious and comforting and the brownie sundae for dessert was excellent. (The brownie tasted like Mom's.) I just love the ambiance of this cafe with its artwork and high ceilings. They have a bar where one can drink or eat at. It feels like the quintissential SF cafe. NOTE THAT: Service is consistently slow. I enjoy weekend breakfasts at Divine but it can be a timely ordeal. Don't ever go hungry and dont expec't 5-star service. Be prepared to ask for more water too.

Little Gem. This place is very comfortable, much more so than the spots lining Columbus just a few blocks away. You can get a little more authentic neighborhood feel here, and it's great to have it right of the park. Friendly service and good food for the price. Great in the morning too (when you get sick of waiting at Momma's).

Best dining spot in North Beach. A very nice little restaurant in a great location across from the Washington Square Park. Kind of like a European cafe.

A new find in North Beach. This cafe, although only a few months old, has the beginnings of something great. One of the most compelling spaces in the city, overlooking Washington Square, Divine is doing a good job living up to its name. The cuisine is delicious, comfort food with a twist--check out the Paradiso pizza, with wild mushrooms and truffle oil, or the Inferno, with carmelized onions, garlic and fried sage (!). Service is friendly and helpful, and there's even live acoustic music on Thursday nights, for free. All of which makes this place a superb value.

North Beach pit stop serving paninis, pasta and pizzetta.. In Short
Patrons can dine with their pooches outside or sit in the interior at wood tables. Views of Washington Square's Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral set the stage for theme dishes like pizza "purgatorio" (carmelized onions, garlic confit, grana, sage) and "cloud nine cheesecake." Rotating pasta dinners are available after 5pm and can be purchased a la carte or as part of the prix fixe, which also includes soup of the day and green salad ($15).
