Best of, my @$$!. Wow! I can't believe how terrible the Friday night scene at Alpha Bar really is. My room mate said he heard of this really cool bar in the Richmond so we looked it up here on City Search and it had rave reviews. So we show up kinda early around 9:45 thinking things will pick up and the place would be "jumping". Sadly, no jumping occurred and we left around 11:30 because there were about 20 people in the entire bar. The service was excellent and the couches are comfy, but having a lack of clientele really reduces the appeal of this bar. Another thing that really intrigued me about this establishment was the overwhelming population of Asian folk. Now I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing, but at the same time a bunch of spikey haired douches and their quasi girlfriends do not make for a good time. Another indiscretion I have is the the bouncer couldn't stop talking to seemingly underage girls long enough to see me walk outside with my friend. When I tried to returned he bumblingly asked to see my ID and I had only been outside for 2 minutes. I didn't know you could fail as a doorman, but the Alpha Bar has proven otherwisse. In conclusion, the Alpha Bar is lame, the dj is sub-par and made my ears hurt, the bathroom is tagged all ghetto-tastically and I wouldn't come back if they paid me. Word to ya mutha'...

Good music Stiff Drinks Cute Guys. I just moved into the Richmond....

Love all the bars out here. But I have to say that Alpha is the only one that really stands out.

All the other bars are really "Divey" and dark... Alpha is just the opposite. The feel of the place brings on a very cool vibe instantly.... The music was hot last Sat. when me and my girls went out and I played poker with some of the regulars there on Wen night. Love the people. Love the Place.

okay place, rude people. Based on the reviews we tried Alpha for the first time last night, and for friday it was empty, and stayed empty. The drinks were a bit on the weak side and the patrons were nice but the bartenders had some attitude. Overall an ok place if you bring your own group, but if you're looking to meet anyone or have a conversation with anyone that works there, Be prepared to be disappointed. Needless to say, Iwith all the great places you could go, do NOT come here.

it was better when it first opened. not the same without nicole. i don't know what the circumstances are in her disappearance, but she's a diamond in the rough that you should do whatever it takes to hold onto because you're not going to find many like her. get her back.

I can't leave!. Why am always here? I should start paying rent. I don't think I want to leave really.

I guess everything is alright. I'm warm, I'm happy, and I have a good cocktail.

I @lpha was a woman, I'd marry it.. lpha, the lush oasis in this desert of bars. What draws me here again and again is the enthusiasm of the employees and the owners. All alike are happy to see you, no matter who you are. With its interior decoration it is hard not to feel at home. The music they play is infectious as is the charisma of the workers. You will thirst for talking to them again and again (especially Nicole & Azure).

Even on their busiest nights, you will not wait more than 2-3 minutes for someone to take your drink order. They also have cocktail waitresses that go around the place when it is extremely busy. The dance floor is usually packed on the weekends with people enjoying themselves, the company they are with, and the music that is playing.

Be warned: you will be mesmerized like a sailor who listens to the sirens song.

This place makes everyone feel at home.. I realize now why this is such a cool place. Alpha is set up like a giant living room. These guys built a living room in their bar. The couches, coffee tables, warm colors, etc.(All done very well BTW). Everyone is relaxing and partying in there friend's living room. It's like a cool house party on the weekends and a safe place to just relax on the weekdays. I'm home.

I am starting to come here too much.. Ok, I can not help but to stop by this place every night. There are always cool people here. And I am in love with all the bartenders. Let me give you a break down of them.

1. Azure = Azure is the tall bikini surfer blond girl with a great personality!

2. Nicole is the hot Brown eye girl that van morrison sings about and makes me want to move to the south of France with and spend the rest of my days eating cheese.

3. Nikki: The girl next door! Too cute for words.

4. Steph is the Spunky punk rock chick with the best sense of humor and tattoos.

I know all this but can't even remember one of the guy bartenders names. HAH HA

I admit I am an official Alpha Bar Groupie now. I love this place.

I am here at Alpha Bar Right Now!. This place is too cool to even begin. They have free internet and wi-fi in every couch booth area. (Which incidently this is where I am doing this review from). My boyfriend is playing Play station, on a big screen TV, with his friends over in this other lounge / couch area. My cocktail is hella strong and I am feeling nice. I'm now thinking about dancing with my friends on the dance floor because I love this song... Ok, I'm tieing one on now... i love this place... Bye Bye.... Oh, BTW... Ben: if you read this, I love your Show Hawk!

This is the Place!. I was just walking by and decided to come in on a Sunday night and this place was packed! Cool happy people just kicking it. Some were dancing, some just socializing. Everyone was all from a diverse background just kicking it together in this place and it seemed like they all belonged. Strange for this city. But, I guess that is what SF should be. Music Great, drinks good and not over priced, bartenders HOT, the whole place is a true lounge. I was told that the weekends where just like that but much more packed. I will come back alot! Keep up the good work Alpha.
