West Portal outpost of popular eatery pleases diners all day and night with generous crepes, omelets, and salads..
In Short
Neighborhood locals catch up over breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this tawny, high-ceilinged brasserie. Menus are written in bold, colorful letters on the massive chalkboards above the counter area. Lighter fare includes soups, salads and a selection of bagel sandwiches, while sweet and savory crepes, like the Sweet As Apple and the Chicken Divan, satisfy bigger appetites, as do hearty pastas.
Good for a quick meal, not a destination spot. This place has good food and is in a pretty central location for those living in the Sunset and Richmond. They have great brunch and lunch options, including granola, sprout-topped bagels, waffles, and a huge list of specialty crepes which are delicious (my favorite is chicken pesto). Still, the food is overpriced for what it is and the atmosphere is lacking - it is drafty and not at all cozy, and is somewhat reminiscent of a cafeteria. The location in the Marina actually has much better ambience. Squat and Gobble is a fine meeting spot, but you could find cuter, tastier, and cheaper places to go for brunch.
its ok..... the food here has never been better than so so, and the prices are high. come here only if everything else in the entire city is closed. i just can't understand why there are always people here.... even their wine is so so.
great food for a great price.
lovely ambiance, bustling on sunday : the turn around time at the tables is pretty quick
the crepes are delicious. try the mediterranean crepe.
