Editorial Review for Ozone Thai Restaurant – by Marcia Gagliardi
The Scene
On a busy lower-Polk corner, this hideaway restaurant sports large windows that look onto the street below. Clubby contemporary furnishings, like mid-'80s plastic wave-back chairs and Kartell colored light fixtures, are mixed with cross-cultural pieces such as Asian stools and sisal-covered banquettes with silk shantung pillows. TV screens dominate most of the space, adding an incongruous sports bar vibe.
The Food
The menu offers an impressive variety of both traditional and experimental Thai dishes. Ingredients are fresh, portions are generous, and many feature nice compositions. A standout included a salad topped with a layer of crispy catfish that's shredded then fried, served with cashews, sliced apple and a kicky dressing. Deep-fried pork spareribs are succulent, and the "Spicy Dice" is a savory dish of salmon, coconut milk, curry and crispy bits of fried basil.

Ozone restaurant is a filthy place and the food is riddled with MSG. The waitstaff openly handle the food with their hands as it sits on the bar waiting to be delivered to your table. The atmosphere reeks of the party that took place the night before. We only gave it a chance because "The Rough Guide" had recommened it. Our party of 5 were violently ill in the middle of the night after dining there. Please avoid this restaurant at all costs!
Pros: none
Cons: food is horrible

this restaurant is very overly rated. The waiteress were flirting with the bar customers, we had to wait atleast 20 minutes while two were talking cheap to other customer. Music is way too loud for the restaurant, my husband and I couldn't hear eachother accross the table. After we got the soup, which was good, another waitress came along and asked us twice if we would like to order something else, maybe desert. and we had already ordered entree from our original waitress. Entree was ok, nothing special. I have had much better thai food in Portland and Seattle.
Pros: ambience
Cons: poor service, very loud music
