why are you reviewing Fish here????. If you look at the headline, this is for reviews of CARUSO'S, not Fish which is next door. You people are weird.

not italian..... I was just visiting and was upset at all the italian places to eat and all I wanted was some fresh fish and chips. This place was recommended by a local and we took a chance. I would say, casual and expensive. The huge downfall was that it was cash only and at $21 for your fish and chips you should get more than 3 pieces of fish, considering you order at the counter like a skippers but here you have to get your own water. I would eat here again because I know its safe, but will cross my fingers that I was there on an off day...

Editorial Review. Sustainable, local and fresh is the credo at this seafood favorite on the water, which also doubles as a fish market.

any fish, any salad, any dessert, any warm blanket.. Good Food, Good Fun, Real Outdoors!

Fish is a great spot for causal, real casual, dining. we go there many friday evenings on our way home from work. the perfect adventure start to a fun weekend. it is right on the water. eat outside, on the deck, the best place as far as we are concerned, but inside is okay, if you get by the front area. Fish has excellent food and the ambiance is a perfect mix of quaint, rustic, industrial (there is a marina right there) and nature. they even supply blankets to keep your legs and, if needed, shoulders, warm while you eat. i mean it is san francisco bay, as the bumper sticker says, Cold Happens!

great fresh fish, good and inventive preparations, adequate and inexpensive wine selection, presented in little mason jars. did i mention, it is rustic?

great for kids, at least a lot of parents must think so, since it seems there are groups of them running around like little puppys, enjoying themselves and the outdoors and a piece of fish sandwich, now and then.

so, if you are in the mood for an adventure to a place you have never gone, since not many such places exist like this in the bay area, Fish is it. did i mention that it can get cold? dress warm and be ready to enjoy yourself in a unique setting.

Great food - fun atmosphere.. In a relatively hard to find spot. Is cash-only - but the seafood is incredible here. I keep going back. Highly recommended as a lunch spot.

Great Fresh Fish!. This restaurant serves the best fresh fish in Sausalito whether it is on a salad, in a sandwich or by itself with a salad or french fries. The quality of the food is the outstanding feature of the menu along with the next-to-the-water setting, open air, sunny and breezy conditions. Despite the self-serve and cash only specifications, our recent dining experience was exceptional thanks to the well-prepared and highest quality ingredients. If the chef said he just the caught the fish two minutes ago, I'd believe him. It's that good. The menu changes daily according to availability and be ready for taste heaven. Go Fish!

Annoying Ripoff in a Great Setting..... Personally, I am tired of seeing "Cash Only" signs posted next to a private-owned, high service fee ATM machine in restaurants. For me, it's a bad start to a hopefully enjoyable dining experience.

This is something I've starting to expect at lower-priced, order-at-the-counter type places, but I have found Fish to be an ungracious mix of lower-priced restaurant mentality with a moderate to highly priced menu. So, when I order a $20 sandwich from the counter at Fish, and see the " cash only " with the cashier pointing to a $2.95- fee, tacky ATM machine in the corner, I'm feeling pretty ripped off.

It's too bad, because the setting is great -- on the water in Sausalito. But, I'll forego it next time because there are other places to go where I feel accommodated, and don't start off my meal with a bad feeling. It's just not worth it.

WOW. I've never met a salmon i liked before. After eating at Fish, I'm intent on figuring out his secrets to such DELICOUS, tasty, mouthwatering salmon sandwiches - WOW. the ambiance is perfect for a sunny weekend afternoon, good company or a good book - it's airy and flowery, and sunny, and friendly and right on the water. The owner does the fishing himself and is very smart & a talented cook. And i can say i've met a salmon i liked. ALOT.
