New Ganges. I wasn't an Indian food lover coming into this place. the ambience, the service, and the most amazingly tasty foods has made me an instant addict. I am now and Indian food lover, because i have had the best at New Ganges.
Veg Heaven.
If god eats eggplant, she orders it from New Ganges.
The food is a spice-freak's dream (spice doesn't mean hot - just VERY-VERY-VERY tasty). All spices are ground fresh, on-site. Everything is fresh - nothing frozen... they don't even own a freezer. Did I say "FRESH."
Only downside in SF is that Wine is not available. But even wine-os will find the food so good , that water works nearly as well.
It's like having dinner in an Indian friend's house, where the master chef is the best cook in India.
The vegie food is out of this world! The service is so good it could be a TV mini-series. Must be experiencied to be believed.
One of those small places you have been seeking all your life.
Superb. Everything here is fantastic. The service was beyond excellent and the dishes were spicy and yummy! They make you feel like home;like you are part of the family.
New Ganges. The New Ganges Restaurant is, undoubtedly, one of the best restaurants in SF. Certainly, it's the best Indian vegetarian food around. The food is superb and is so fresh. The flavors are variegated, distinctive and exquisite. The service is great and the host is utterly gracious and inviting.
the taste of India. New Ganges reminds me more of the food in India than any restaurant in SF. The food is 100% fresh and wondefully prepared. The proprietor is the most gracious host, and the value is unbeatable.
beautiful!. great food and great service!! Went there with a large group, sat in the back private area and were treated spectactularly. The type of place were the server takes control, recommends what to eat and treats you as if you were visiting his house. Loved it! PLUS, its BYOB so you save cash....
My favorite restaurant.. I like to go out to eat, a lot. The New Ganges is my favorite restaurant ever. #1: Delicious. Aftab will tell you, Everything Is Fresh, Nothing Is Ever Frozen! And he will prove it by showing you the empty freezer. #2: New Ganges is like family. Aftab absolutely pulls out all the stops. We have had birthday parties and taken many guests: everyone is impressed, everyone has a great time, and everyone eats way too much. #3: incredible samosas. #4: did I mention that the food is authentic, delicious, and they will make any dish you request, from mild to super-spicy? #5: it is a GREAT DEAL. Two of us can hurt ourselves for under $30. New Ganges is a treasure.
best in the city. it is by far the best indian restaurant in the whole of the SF area. the food is as authentic as it gets, the only negative is service is slow, but very friendly. it is the best indian restaurant ive been to in the city.
New Ganges Vegetarian Indian Restaurant. ok, you guys...this is by far the best dining experience I've had in the city. With so many other Indian restaurants here, its a shame so many people are missing out. Go for the food and service.stay for the hospitality.come back for the fix.16 of us had a birthday dinner there-the best experience ever, down to the red roses for the female guests, the insurpassable knowledge of the spectacular food, the birthday balloons, candles, and the generous gesture to stay open late to accomodate our party. All this, including a 25%tip (I wish I couldve afforded 50%), for less than $20/person. 1 word: INCREDIBLE!!!!
Just like India.... I have been to India many times. I am also a vegetarian. This is the best Indian fod that I have had in or out of India. FRESH is an understatement and the ambiance is like being invited to someone's home. I could not recommend this place more highly...and that includes small groups. I go once per week...really.
