Fabulous Groomers for Fabulous Dogs. I have 2 Chihuahuas and we have been loyal Bow Wow Meow customers for almost 3 years now. The people here are very friendly and definite animal lovers. One of my Chihuahuas is a bit feisty (as many Chihuahuas are) and yet they are happy get him in anytime I call. As well as being friendly the staff here is also very knowledgeable and happy to help you in any way they can. I’m not sure how it compares in price to other groomers in San Francisco, but $55 for a bath, haircut, nail trim, ear cleaning and the dreaded gland squeezing seems pretty reasonable to me.
Not bad place..
Not bad place. Very good selection for one that isn't a chain. At least I believe they're not a chain.
Last time we were here, the owner, I believe, helped me outfit my dog with a flotation vest and all the essential chews for his dental good health.
Avoid this place! Three strikes and you're out.. I have taken two cats here three times. The first time was a year ago, to get my ultra-long-hair rasta cat's inevitable dreadlocks shorn off. The Lion cut of Judah. It was OK, but the staff was sort of spacey, like, no focus, attention span, or linear thinking. The second time was for a regular grooming of a domestic shorthair, and he came home with fleas! Aaaaargh. So after a year I took Catty Dread back for the annual shearing, and this time was the last. The front office staff was rude. The back office (which I was, to my surprise, allowed to see) was like the cast of "Who Wants to be a Dog Groomer?" In spite of my delivering the cat promptly at 9:00 AM, they didn't give him back until 6:00 PM, and the lion cut was like what a kid does to Barbie with her first scissors.
Average - not very gentle / too many pets at once / not the cleanest place. not very gentle / too many pets at once / not the cleanest place I went once for grooming and never went back... BUT they have a good selection on "stuff" from raw food to collers and t-shirts, books and snacks for your dog
BEWARE OF RETURNING PURCHASES. I have been a customer for many years, until it was time to return a deffective item. I showed up with my receipt within two days of making the purchase and was turned away based on the fact the owner was not available for validation. Sad to say, they have lost a very good customer.
Russian Hill pets and their owners thrill to this well-stocked animal boutique..

User review by barunita. I take my animals in for nail clipping. I'm always taken right away and it's over painlessly very quickley. And they never complain about dropping in. The price is the best I've found.
Great store and groomers!.
I had taken my dog there for a touch up on his hair cut, and he was groomed so well!
I did ask for specific terrier type cut for his face, and he came back with a puppy cut, but none-the-less, it was done well. He seemed really happy and looked really cute. They gave him a bath and trimmed his nails, I was so pleased with the way he smelled when I picked him up.
The retail portion of this business, is simply amazing. They have a great selection, and at decent prices(just a little elevated).
