I hope you can work out the service kinks..... I arrived with a reservation for 8 coworkers for lunch. We loved the atmosphere, high ceilings, modern, yet cozy furniture and the outdoor patio was serene and inviting, but the service was very poor. The server slash host was very rude when we wanted to switch tables from the outside to the inside because it was chilly. The restaurant was not crowded. We were warned at noon on a Thursday that our food (sandwiches and salads would not be ready for 30 minutes. When our food did arrive halves of sandwiches were missing ingredients and the spinach was grainy with sand. We really want to come back as we love the atmosphere. I hope you can work out the kinks.
I'll return. I'm writing this little review for the staff. Thank you, for the good service and I'll keep returning. They understand the word customer service. There are so many cafes, that something has to stick out over the others. Axis Cafe has wonderful service and good coffee. Thank you, April
An Oasis in the business of the day.
I am from out of the country and went to Axis at the recommendation of a friend, and I was not dissapointed at all in fact I came 3 times while here I enjoyed it so much!!!
The food was wonderful and each different meal I tried was delish, the atmosphere/ambience was funky and relaxing, with a beautiful outside area as well as friendly staff.
I would recommend to anyone as you will not be dissapointed in the Axis cafe
Great Place for Lunch!. I come to this part of town about once a month, and I am so glad I can have Axis! The menu is not too overwhelming, not a huge selection, but it does cover a wide range of good food to accomodate everyone's tastes. Besides, it's not really about quantity, but quality is what is important and the quality of food at Axis is great! Very cool place to sit and unwind. Love the decor and their sandwiches. Prices are fair as well.
Great Sunday Afternoon Hang OUt. We stumbled upon this place. Great food for the price. Staff had a friendly but not in your face vibe. The huge outdoor section was a great chill out space for a Sunday afternoon out of the wind in the sun.
Editorial Review. Relax on couches while sipping an espresso drink. Also pastries, sandwiches, wraps, breakfast menu, more; rotating exhibits by local artists.
Axis is it!!!. i dont head down to Portero too often, but wanted to grab a quick bite to eat while i was in that part of the city, and came across this cafe. walking into this large space, which according to one of the owners was a diesel shop, makes me just wanna take a long siesta. the walls have some really good art hanging by local painters. world-music playing in the background, and plenty of seating for everyone, including a decent size patio in the back. the place was crowded even at 2pm, but everyone has enough room to just kick back and chill. i had some juice and a chkn pesto sandwich, which was pretty good. the service is friendly and fast.
