Great chill quiet indian food spot in the lower part of haight. Delicious vegetarian options. Great friendly staff every time I have gone. Recommend the aloo gobi and the biryani rice. The food came out cool once and they had no issues with reheating it for us so we could enjoy it. Give them a chance, they have always come through for me

YUCK!. I love Indian food and was excited to eat here after viewing it on a local restaurant review tv show. I left feeling like a rube for eating there.

I didn't mind that the portions were ridiculously small because we couldn't eat what was delivered to our table. It was inedible.

Curry Grant/ chicken curry = 3 small pieces of RAW (pink/red) CHICKEN in a soup of boring curry sauce.

Nan = 1 cold & dry piece - no chewiness

tamarind & mint chutneys were watery & bland

The vegetable pakora was greasy and small

We ordered the Chopra okra mild b/c I'm pregnant & keeping it mild to medium for now- it came spicy - so spicy that it tasted flat.

The waitress noticed that we didn't eat much of the little food that was delivered to our table so asked sheepishly if we wanted to order more dishes - "how about desert?" We thanked her & asked for the bill.

The service was ok.

Avoid this place. Not the best Indian place in town! What a place not to dine on a Friday nite, Saturday nite or any other nite. We waited 20 minutes for the menu's, waited 25 minutes for them to take the order and then waited a full 60 minutes before our food arrived. The chicken tika masala, was all sauce with 3 pieces of chicken, the price $10.00! We ordered Aloo Gobi, they had run out, they sent out masala pumpkin...? Chicken Kariahi was all masala again with 3 pieces of chicken, the price 10! We ordered Lamb Birayani, they served us Chicken, the rice was white rice with chicken masala sauce and the rice was half cooked. I'm sorry to say, we will never visit this place again or recommend to our friends. PAKWAN on 16th & Valencia has more VALUE for your money and the FOOD is fantastic!!!

Favorite Indian Resturant. This is my favorite Indian resturant in the city. You can actually taste the difference in each dish. The best part is that" it NOT greasy" when compared to other indian resturants. we order atleast once a week and each time the taste is consistent. I really really like thier samosas and thier vegetarian dishes and Aloo naan. SSSSSoooooo Good. oh don't forget the chai...it's complimentary.

I wish they had more ventilation in the dining area, it gets a bit smokey and congested.

Good Indian. This place has good Indian food - nothing spectacular service or food wise but it is a solid effort. Food is not too spicy which suits me just fine

good food and good price. Food was tasty, quickly served at reasonable price. Decor is mod and fun. Great place to go with friends or a casual evening out. Good service.

Best Indian/Pakistani Food! Just Like London!. If you want a memorable meal you should order the following:

- Chicken Tikka Masala

- Karahi

- Allo Gobi

- Daal Maash

- Plain Rice

- Plain Naan

- Aloo Naan

The flavors from these dishes compliment each other so well that your taste buds will love you. Unlike most restaurant meals, these dishes have their own unique flavor and texture but end up being just the right pairing--like gorgonzola cheese spread on a slightly tangy green apple. Trust me. Once you have this meal, you'll be craving it at least weekly!

Avoid lamb tandoori !. I ordered their tandoori lamb chops + nan: was disgusting ! Cold, tasteless, lamb was not tender at all !

I was and I'm still very disappointed.

Casual atmosphere with great service!. We showed up at 7:00 on a Saturday night with no reservations, and the place was empty! A little disappointing, but our experience made up for it! The atmosphere is bright and casual, and the service was fantastic! We brought our 2-year old, and the staff was VERY accommodating and friendly. Ordered garlic naan, veggie pakora, curries, chicken tikka masala, and all was good. Not fantastic, but very good. There is a liquor store across the street, and Rotee allows you to bring in wine with no corkage fee. We would go again!

Hands down the best Indian Cuisine. No joke, this place is very very good!!! So good I yearn it, I smell it in my dreams, I drool just thinking about it (drip, drip...see I told you). My absolute must eats are the chicken tikka masala, Daal Gosht, Aloo Palak, Garlic Naan and the Mango Chutney. The food arrives at your table piping hot in very shareable portions. The service is swift and very welcoming. The kitchen is out in the open so you can see the chef prepare the food and see how fresh the ingredients are.
