Editorial Review for Rotee – by Ali Jones-Bey
In Short
A sense of humor and spicy dishes make this an Indian food-lover's haven. Warm colors and hanging lights strive to emulate a Bollywood studio, beckoning diners to gaze upon one of the many posters adorning the walls. The menu features an inexpensive selection of traditional and fusion cuisine, including chicken tikka masala, aloo baingun and tandoori boti, all described with droll references to Bollywood actors and movie scenes.

Delicious vegetarian options. Great friendly staff every time I have gone. Recommend the aloo gobi and the biryani rice. The food came out cool once and they had no issues with reheating it for us so we could enjoy it. Give them a chance, they have always come through for me
Pros: well priced, not greasy, easy to get a table
Cons: slow kitchen, uncomfortable seating (hard wooden benches)

I love Indian food and was excited to eat here after viewing it on a local restaurant review tv show. I left feeling like a rube for eating there. I didn't mind that the portions were ridiculously small because we couldn't eat what was delivered to our table. It was inedible. Curry Grant/ chicken curry = 3 small pieces of RAW (pink/red) CHICKEN in a soup of boring curry sauce. Nan = 1 cold & dry piece - no chewiness tamarind & mint chutneys were watery & bland The vegetable pakora was greasy and small We ordered the Chopra okra mild b/c I'm pregnant & keeping it mild to medium for now- it came spicy - so spicy that it tasted flat. The waitress noticed that we didn't eat much of the little food that was delivered to our table so asked sheepishly if we wanted to order more dishes - "how about desert?" We thanked her & asked for the bill. The service was ok.
Pros: the place was empty, so we didn't have to wait
Cons: raw chicken, small portions, boring use of spices
