In Short – This pretension-free speakeasy has been around since before Prohibition. The narrow front room features a wooden bar-back imported from Belgium, TV broadcasting local ballgames and mascot-like elk's head. Rock-and-roll-friendly patrons grab a seat at one of the few high tables bordering the window or belly up to the bar, which displays a tongue-in-cheek "Employee of the Decade" poster. Service is friendly yet laid-back to the extent that diners may need to request napkins. – –

I have had some great times in this cornor bar. Used to live a block away from it and never really visited till i had moved, wish i could have spent more time there, over all great music downstairs, and when you enter the backside of the bar is a ship rear end over the stairway to the downstairs!(had to add that kind of cool) i give it a thumbs up!
- Pros: Right off the freeway in S.O.M.A.
- Cons: Not reall alot of parking, barts 6 blocks away!

head in here on the 24th of July and join the other Bay Area ex-Utahns in hoisting a beverage in honor of our old home state and all its wacky idiosyncracies.
- Pros: Good drinks
- Cons: Sketchy neighborhood
