For Locals Only. Ok, so it's not really for locals only, but you'd be hard-pressed to find a tourist wandering inside this cozy venue. This place has history, and it's been an absolute staple for the obscure and less-well-known music-lovers for decades. Mind you they book quite a few big names as well, but The Independent simply does not genre discriminate. You like metal? Great. Indie? Perfect. Best Venue in SF. The Independent has amazing sight lines from all areas of the venue and the most amazing sound system in the Bay Area.
