Big Dissappointment. I was looking forward to dining here and was extremely dissappointed. The ambiance was good - however, we were bothered by the amount of gnats that were hovering over our table. We actually moved tables and still had gnats galore. The bread was stale; at least 1 day old. We shared 4 tapas plates, with 2 selections being unedible. We left the restaurant starving. On a positive note, the sangria was excellent.
Terrible Experience....Sneaky..
I wasnt initially going to write about this but everytime I drive by this restaurant I become angry. So.....excuse me while I climb up on my soapbox.
I took my mom and stepdad to Sabor of Spain for their anniversary dinner. I wanted the night to be special, so we decided to order a nice bottle of wine. We asked the waiter for a reccommendation. He had "the perfecto bottle" for us.....so we obliged. The wine was good......very good. When the bill came, there was a line item for a "corking fee." Knowing that we did not bring in a bottle of wine, I asked the waiter what the fee was for. I was ok with the fact that the kind waiter picked out a $90 bottle of wine, but he brought a bottle that was not on the menu....rather, it was from the Sabor of Spain store. Following me here.....they were charging us a corking fee for having a bottle of wine that came from the restaurants store.......a store that shared a common doorway with the restaurant. Corking fees are for bottles that come from home or a third party store, so that the restuarant can still make some money off serving said bottle of wine. Not for the restaurant that is AFFILIATED with the store. Totally out of line. and ing to gauge us for a corking fee, when we were not bringin in wine from outside. A wiater should not recommend a bottle that is not on the menu. Very OUT OF LINE....and sneaky. Nonetheless, I wont go back, and I tell everyone about this experience. And, the food was just "ok." Nothing special.
Great products, great people. I had such a great time last week at Sabor of Spain. Not only they organized a wine tasting at the store, but teh wines were amazing, the food excellent and the best of all: the people. What a great store!!! Check it out!
