Editorial Review for LJ's Martini Club & Grille – by Daniel Liszt
The Scene
This loungey restaurant is located amid video-game central on the second floor of Sony's ultra-mall. Near the entrance, semicircular banquettes accommodate large parties, while multicolored booths line the central island. There is virtually no art on the modern wood walls, which may make the room feel slightly unfinished--or, it may draw attention to the lengthy bar's TVs, which silently flash LJ's ads. In back, plush crimson couches offer an ideal spot to relax and absorb the live jazz (Wednesday-Friday evenings).
The Draw
LJ's attracts a mixed 30-something crowd: after-work, touristy, and pre- or post-movies. A half-dozen martini selections highlight the drink menu, as well as a recommended, not-on-the-menu Cosm 'O' Licious: an orange-flavored rum twist on a traditional cosmopolitan. The waitstaff is attentive and professional, whether refilling water glasses or serving light-and-flaky pizzas cooked with homemade dough.

i have been trying to come here every sunday since i met the stellar bartender named J.T. Aside from making the meanest makers mark manhattan, with the perfect amount of bitters and crystalized ice floating on top, he is actually a real down to earth guy that you can talk to,...very rare in this town of bartenders with bad attitudes. when i am feeling down, this is where i come to have a drink ,great conversation ,some calamari and leave feeling much better Tina

Granted it's not the ideal time to have dinner on a Wed., so my experience may be different. The restaurant was virtually empty and the bar was entirely empty. We sat down for dinner, but service was relatively slow considering there were probably as many waitstaff as there were customers. The food was ok, neither great nor horrible. I'll go back just to see if there's any difference in atmosphere when the place isn't dead.
