worth the drive over Hwy 17. My daughter and I followed Jody to Rogue from a shop in Santa Cruz because she was always very attentive and professional. Going into a new salon is always a little uncomfortable, but this place is great! Every single person who works here is thoughtful and observant and friendly. There's lots of places to just "get a haircut" but to be pampered and treated well, this is the place. Reading some of the other comments makes me want to clarify that I have very curly, unruly hair and have had plenty of awful hair cuts in my time. It is, however, only hair --- which grows and is never the same two days in a row. When I have gotten a style from someone that doesn't quite work for some reason, I first think about whether I was clear in my expectations. If I was, and still got something other than exactly what I wanted, I usually try to get the stylist to make some changes. If it just isn't working, or can't be "fixed" well, hair grows and while I want to look nice, I'm not my hair. I've been impressed that their prices are certainly in line with most salons I've patronized, and the ambience is better. I'd recommend them highly - every person I've seen leaving looks great and is smiling!! Beth

Complete waste of money!!!. Came in after reading great reviews but I left terribly disappointed. Sorry, but I am not recommending this place.

Best Cut for Curly Hair!. I am a performer. I try to make drunk people laugh at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles each week. I used to make fun of my hair. Every woman with curls knows what I'm talking about, the basic curly hair cut most salons give. I like to call it "The Eddie Vedder". You remember him from the 90's, the lead singer of Pearl Jam grunge/rock group.

Well, not anymore because now I fly up to get my hair cut and colored by Nancy at ROUGE SALON on Main in Redwood City! Nancy actually listened to my concerns. She cut and colored my hair to perfection! That salon rules and although I've lost a good joke I don't look like one. Thank you Rachelle Analla for opening such a beautiful salon and making me look and feel like a star!

Sharing a Secret.... Your hair is your #1 accessory - and you CANNOT take it off! My entire family counts on Jody to keep us looking stylish without breaking the bank. My son hears how cool his hair looks from passersby on the street as well as the kids at school. My husband rocks on stage and off. And my secret...I wasn't born blond, but Jody makes me look like I was!

Best Hair Salon on the Peninsula. My hair looks great ever since I started going to Rouge! I get compliments all the time. The cut and the color are just right every time. Teresa Elliott never fails to give me exactly the right style. Not to mention a great Peninsula location and a look that is fun and upscale, but the prices are right.

Wonderful wonderful place!. I am so excited I found this place! The vibe, the atmosphere, the skill...amazing. I have gone to Erin Bisordi at the salon several times and she is utterly amazing. She does color like no one I have ever gone to before and I am PICKY. Her blondes are the best I've ever seen and her cuts are precision and completely up-to-the-minute. Every stylist in there looks great and Melissa Pugh does incredible up-dos! I would totally recommend this Moulin Rouge-style salon that is so comfortable and friendly, not to mention the prices which are really reasonable as far as Bay Area hair salons go. They also carry the Kerastase line which is sort of hard to find, as well as Bumble and Bumble.

Finally!. I have switched salons so many times over the years, trying to find the perfect colorist. I have finally found that with Rouge. It's a darling, clean, comfortable Moulin Rouge-style salon in Redwood City on a cute downtown street. Erin Bisordi, one of the stylists, is superb at cutting-edge, trendy cuts that fit one's personality perfectly and she does the perfect blonde for me, which was always the challenge at other salons. Her colleague Melissa Pugh did my wedding updo and it was beyond my expectations. They also sell Kerastase products which are fairly difficult to find. Highly recommend Rouge!

What a hidden gem!. You may be in Redwood City but you'll feel like you're worlds away when you step into Rouge Salon. The parisian-inspired decor is elegant and sophisticated and creates a perfect ambience for pampering your inner-princess. Chandeliers, oversized armchairs and expert stylists make your visit to Rouge a decadent treat. And for the added bonus, the salon uses Kerastase and Bumble & Bumble products. Finally, a city-like salon for us peninsula gals!
