Besides the flawless produce (their Tarocco blood oranges made me question everything I thought I knew about how citrus should taste), this cute bay-facing Ferry Building favorite bakes sublime pastries. Love the Meyer lemon tarts, cherry & blueberry tarts, and Meyer lemon cake!
This place has the best fruit tarts ever especially in the fall and the pumpkin tart is fresh and warm. Go on Saturday mornings when the Market is in full swing, stop get a great fruit tart, apple or peach crisp with a hot cup of coffee and sit outside. Beautiful
Frog Hollow Kicks Butt. They have the best coffee and pastries in the city. All of the staff are great and will do anything to make you happy. Great seasonal items and the best fruit on the planet.
A well-known Sacramento River Delta farm brings its legendary stone fruit to the Ferry Building..
In Short
Farmer Al Courchesne grows more than 25 varieties of peaches, as well as apricots, pears and cherries, along the Sacramento River, and his wife Rebecca boils them into conserves and marmalades. Their contribution to the Ferry Building is a cheery cafe overlooking the bay, where visitors can sip fresh-brewed Blue Bottle organic coffee with Straus Family organic milk. House-baked tarts are generously packed with seasonal fruit or savory alternatives like mushrooms and leeks.
