The Scene – This intimate, two-tiered space is heavily accented in metallic blue and sparsely decorated with colorful paintings. Purple candle-like lamps dimly illuminate the bar area, which fills with suit-and-tie regulars. Black-clad servers attend to an after-work crowd in the narrow room, where a cluster of designer chairs and leather couches--some shaped like mattresses--sit atop a wood floor and underneath an arched, metallic ceiling. – – The Draw – Azul is near Union Square, but its hard-to-find alley location means no touristy crowds. Most nights, CDs fill the…

Azul's Kitchen Rocks!! Awesome Happy hour and delicious fresh fruit drinks!!!

I hadn't been to Azul for a few months and decided to stop in last week on a date with my new bo. They have a NEW drink menu with tons of fresh fruit mojitos to pick from. I had a tasty watermelon mojito and a honey mint dacari that was awesome!! The tuna tartar was really fresh and and priced just right. I've decided to make this my new dinner, and happy hour spot. I'm so glad they finally opened their kitchen and the chef really rocks and the food came out fast!! I really liked what they did with the space. The new white leather booths are perfectly stylish and comfortable.
I'm definately going to have my next birthday party at Azul.
- Pros: The drinks are delicious!! Thank god they opened their own kitchen.
Unless you want fancy crowd, go to Azul

The place was great: great music and spacious place. The crowd was not fancy but if you are doing to dance, who cares.

I went to Azul for a party recently and I just heard about this place. I?m a native of San Francisco and I?ve been to many of the most trendy night clubs, lounges, and restaurants in the area. I?m proud to what my city has to offer when it comes to food and the night scene. Plus, I consider myself to have a pretty good taste palette. As for Azul, this is a place where you wouldn?t miss out on much, if you decided to pass on going there.
It is practically in the heart of San Francisco, a very prime location and it?s a couple of years old already. You walk in the place and see all this nice, trendy, artsy decor with some great artwork on the wall. They also have some HDTV?s up on the wall to watch sporting events. And to my surprise they had food available.
I tried the food and in my honest opinion, you?re better off eating at a hole-in-the wall joint elsewhere. The prices made sense for the location, but didn?t match the quality of the food. The chicken and shrimp egg rolls tasted really bland. The only flavor came with the sweet and sour sauce that was on the side. Were they serious about their BBQ nachos? It was like someone had the munchies and used whatever was in the fridge. The cheese looked like it was microwaved and the bbq chicken barely had any bbq flavor. And last but not least, was their flank steak. It was a very small piece of flank steak chopped up on a small scoop of mashed potatoes. I asked for medium and it came out well done.
The highlight was only the Hip-Hop DJ. The drinks seemed pretty watered down and badly mixed, especially with all the ice they stick in the plastic cups. Unfortunately the party was shut down cause of a small cat fight between two women. Plus the security was not that intimidating to begin with. Even their website is not helpful for information and seems outdated. Sorry? looks cool, but those looks are deceiving in my opinion.
cool, but not super cool

i really liked this place until the other day. I ordered a drink at the very last moment of happy hour. by the time i paid for it, happy hour had just ended. he charged me full price :(
the dj is pretty cool though, nice upscale environment.
Great place to hang out!

This place is perfect for any after-work Happy Hour. There's drink specials and you can even bring your own food into the lounge if you're organizing the Happy Hour. (That's Azul's only downfall - no food)! The crowd after work is generally young and from the financial area, but it's a good bunch of people who like to have a drink to wind down after a long day. Definitely people that can strike up a conversation!
If you don't already know, the top floor or the room downstairs can be reserved to hold a private party or Happy Hour. Me and my friends/co-workers have held several events in Azul because of it's friendly staff and great location. It's not too hard to find unless you're speaking with people who don't know the City.
I highly suggest that you check it out and decide for yourself.
- Pros: Ambience, Crowd, Music and Location to name a few...
- Cons: No food!
